iGino One

iGino One Packaging and ComponentsSex toys are even more mainstream now than they were when I started reviewing them three years ago, and that’s a good thing because many women don’t orgasm from vaginal penetration alone and require some sort of clitoral stimulation. That doesn’t mean they can’t learn to have a G-spot orgasm, or at least feel pleasure from internal stimulation, but even then, some of us still like to have our clits played with.

This is why rabbits were my favorite vibes for ages, and I’ll always be a fan of dual stimulation toys, at least for solo play. But rabbits aren’t so great to use during sex with a partner, unless you’re looking for a double penetration experience, which is why a good clit vibe should be a sex toy staple.

iGino One VibratorFor me, the vibrations must be strong, rumbly, and constant. I prefer toys that are waterproof for easy cleaning, rechargeable (eco-friendly and saves money on batteries), and quiet because whether I’m using it with a partner or not, I do not live alone. Oh, and of course all my sex toys must be made from body-safe materials.

Along with adult products becoming more accepted, I’ve noticed an increase in sex toys designed by small companies, some of which are crowdfunded. These are not your typical luxury vibe knockoffs, but rather innovative products with unique designs, like the Crave Duet. More recently I received an iGino One clit vibe to review, and even though the Indiegogo campaign for it has ended, the promo video is still available for those interested in the product history.

In addition to being rechargeable via USB, iGino One has two other things going for it:

  • The size and design are very discreet. Nobody would think this is a sex toy. It’s no bigger than a smart phone and looks like an iFlip camera.
  • It doesn’t produce standard vibrations. Rather, the nub both vibrates and moves back and forth. This “patented technology” is called vibraMoove, and it supposedly “mimics and improves the natural movement of a woman’s fingers stimulating herself, reaching lasting and intense pleasure.”

The iGino One still needs some work, though.

  • It’s LOUD. Seriously, what’s the point of having a discreet size and design if you can hear the motor through a closed door and across the hall? For those of us that don’t live alone, noisy toys aren’t practical.
  • This thing puts out a BEACON OF LIGHT when charging. I was shocked by how bright the little circle lights up when iGino One is plugged in. So much for tucking it away to charge discreetly.
  • There’s only one speed. The motor’s vibration–er, I mean vibraMoove thingy–is powerful, but it feels a tad buzzy to me, and really, vibes should have multiple speeds even when they’re using patented technology.
  • Your only option with iGino One is pinpoint stimulation, which you can vary slightly by using the flower-shaped “skin touch” EVA foam attachment (or not) on the nub, but there’s no wider surface for grinding against or stimulating a broader area.
  • Considering how I have to hold iGino One in order to position the nub right on my clit, it doesn’t really fit between bodies all that well. Also, holding the tip in place during partner sex is a challenge because, you know, bodies tend to move around.
  • If I may be super nit-picky for a moment, while I appreciate the discreet design of this toy, clunky hard plastic isn’t the sexiest thing to whip out during a romantic encounter.

The company claims iGino One is “exactly what women want” but I beg to differ. I can get off with this vibe, but what I want is a curved dildo with a bulbous head inside me while I grind against the broader surface of a multi-speed, rumbly clit vibe, thank you very much.

I also can’t tell much of a difference in the sensation this vibraMoove technology produces compared to a regular vibrator, and maybe that’s because the nub is so small. Or maybe I’m just not discerning enough because I also didn’t think the Gyrating Lover felt like it was gyrating against me. However, we’re all different, so if you like pinpoint stimulation on your clitoris and don’t mind using a single-speed vibe that makes a lot of racket, then the iGino One might work for you.
