Joyballs Single Kegel Exercise ToyNever underestimate the importance of doing Kegel exercises, and there are plenty of toys available to help make working those pelvic floor muscles more fun. I recently tried the Joyballs Single from Joy Division, which is a hollow silicone ball with another, smaller ball inside that rattles around as the user moves about. There is a handy retrieval cord that is partially covered with the same silicone.

The Joyballs Single is spherical (unlike some other other Kegel balls that are more elliptically shaped), and measures a little over 4 1/4 inches in circumference. Packaged in a pretty silver box, it comes with a satiny silver storage pouch, instructions in many languages, and a sample packet of lube.

I apologize for the poor quality of the photo. Since the box is a very shiny metallic silver, I couldn’t figure out a way to take a picture of it without a reflection showing.

I’m currently reading Female Ejaculation & the G-Spot, and according to Deborah Sundahl, women with healthy pelvic floor muscles should be able to squeeze a banana in half. I’ve been afraid to even try, because I seriously doubt my PC muscle is that strong, so I decided to ramp up my Kegel exercises.

Joyballs Single Kegel Exercise ToyJoyballs Single Silicone On Retrieval Cord Ripped

Unfortunately, the silicone ripped where the string attaches to the ball after only 4 uses. This was very disappointing because I actually like the Joyballs Single better than my SmartBalls. I find it easier to keep in when I’m being active, and I think that’s because it fits me better.

I hope that this is a fluke and the one I received is faulty. I emailed the manufacturer, more than once, and when they finally did get back in tough with me they passed the buck and told me to contact the retailer. So nice to know they care about the quality of their product. Needless to say, I’m not impressed with this brand. My full review of the Joyballs Single is posted on the EdenFantasys website.

Plastic Kegel exercise ballsNot long after my Joyballs Single incident, I decided to try other sex toys designed to strengthen the PC muscles. I found a very affordable option in the Duotone Orgasm Ballsfrom California Exotics. As is the case with most Kegel exerciser balls, these are hollow with a smaller, weighted ball inside.

But unlike the silicone and elastomer vaginal balls I’ve previously used, these are made from hard plastic and connected by a nylon string. Their smooth surface has a two-tone marbled pattern, and they’re available in either pink and white or purple and white.

When the string is stretched out straight, the total length measures 8 inches, with 3 inches of fixed string in between the balls. I admit that I was a bit surprised when I discovered that the bottom ball doesn’t slide freely along the string, but when inserted the balls easily push up against each other, so I don’t even notice the spare string in between.

Duotone Orgasm Balls Packaging Front

Front of Packaging

Underneath the bottom ball, the nylon string forms a 2 1/4 inch loop for easy removal.  Each ball has a diameter of about 1 1/4 inches, making their girth around 4 1/4 inches, and when the balls are pushed together they measure close to 3 inches long. Around the middle of each ball is a visible seam, but I honestly can’t feel it when I’m wearing them.

The packaging is very minimal. It’s just an easy-to-open, clear plastic clamshell, with a paper insert backing that has some basic product information on it. It could be used for storage, but it takes up more space than just keeping the balls in a plastic bag.

Since these balls are hard plastic, they’re easy to clean with just soap and water or toy cleaner. My one gripe is that the nylon string takes a while to dry. This isn’t a huge deal, but it’s something to keep in mind, especially when using the bathroom. I have no trouble keeping these in while urinating, but feeling the wet string against me afterwards is rather unpleasant, and there may be some associated hygiene concerns.

Doutone Orgasm Balls Packaging

Back of Packaging

As far as wearing them, hard plastic is a lot slicker than materials like silicone or elastomer that have surface drag. This means I can easily insert them without any lube, but I have to work a little harder at keeping them in since smooth plastic doesn’t have any grip. Lube could possibly make them too slippery to keep inserted, as they might easily slide right back out again.

The little balls inside really do rattle around, making more noise than other Kegel balls I’ve tried, and they’re clearly audible at times when I’m wearing them, depending on their position inside of me and how I’m moving. This means I can’t really use them discreetly, so I won’t be wearing these out in public.

Now, I will say that I get more sensation from these than any other Kegel balls I’ve used so far, but for the noise they make it seems like I should feel them eve more. If that makes any sense. But considering they only cost around $8 a pair, I’m not expecting premium materials or upscale quality.

All in all, they’re fairly comfortable, so these are great to wear around the house for a few hours, and they do provide noticeable stimulation while working the PC muscles. Since they’re so affordable and easy to use, these would be ideal for those new to Kegel balls, or sex toys in general for that matter. I posted a video tour over at, and they currently sell the Duotone Orgasm Balls for $7.99.

Wartenberg Pinwheel sex toy BDSM bondageI enter a lot of blog giveaways for sex toys. I’m a sucker for the chance to get fun stuff. Plus, getting insight into other types of products people enjoy gives me ideas of things I might like to try, but I can’t buy everything.

Receiving an item through a giveaway is actually a double win because it allows me to try something I otherwise may not have selected for myself and without the obligation of having to review it if I don’t like it. Then, if I do like it I have something cool to review.

Mistress Kay recently hosted a giveaway for a Wartenberg Wheel on her Kinky World blog, and I was the lucky winner! I had never seen anything quite like it before. It reminds me of a pastry cutter for some reason, but it’s actually a medical device. Designed by Dr. Wartenberg, the pinwheel’s evenly-spaced spikes test nerve reactions as the wheel rolls along skin.

My Wartenberg Wheel came packaged in a narrow plastic sleeve, one side of which is clear so the pinwheel is visible. It measures 7 inches total in length, from the tip of the top spike to the end of the offset handle. The solid part of the wheel is about an inch in diameter, and the spikes measure 1/4 of an inch long.

I’m not sure what type of metal this is made from. I’m guessing it’s stainless steel or something similar. The handle on my wheel is blue, and it’s apparently paint, because there’s a small place where some of it has chipped off.

The spikes look severe and are quite sharp and pointy, they’re not designed to actually break the skin. I’m sure they could if somebody pressed hard enough, but the severity of stimulation is entirely up to the user. This is a fun toy to tease with.

While feather ticklers give more of a soft, floaty type of sensation, the spikes on a pinwheel are more of a pinpoint prickly-tickly feeling. I find that different body areas respond with varying sensitivity to the wheel rolling along my skin, which is pretty cool to play with.

It’s great for sensory play and teasing, so it’s an ideal toy to use during foreplay. I think a pinwheel makes a nice step up from feather ticklers, and since it’s so small, storage is no problem. This is something I probably would never have thought I’d enjoy, but I am so glad I got to try it. It’s certainly something new for me, and I look forward to playing with it more.

Sweet Beauty Chocolate Body Cream moisturizer lotionI love lotions, body butters, and all those self-pampering products that make me feel and smell good. My skin is rather sensitive and can be a bit quirky, so I use all-natural stuff as much as possible to avoid potential reactions.

I’m always eager to try new brands and products, and I recently received some Sweet Beauty Chocolate Body Cream to review. Babeland sent it to me, which shows once again that they truly are a woman-friendly sex toy store, because this stuff is made for us. Chocolate and luxurious body cream in one? Yes please!

Sweet Beauty Chocolate Body Cream moisturizer lotionThe ingredients even sound heavenly: Distilled Water, Grape Seed Oil, Shea Butter Oil, Capuacu Butter and Babassu Seed Oil infused with Organic Fair Trade Cocoa and Nibs, Cocoa Absolute, Vegetable Emulsifying Wax, Glycerin, Stearic Acid, Natural Chocolate Flavor Oil, Honeysuckle Extract, and Citric Acid.

The Sweet Beauty company belief “if you wouldn’t eat it, don’t wear it on your skin” means their skin care line is free from petroleum products, parabens, and any of the other potentially irritating chemicals commonly found in cosmetics. The company also considers beauty products as a natural way to feel good, especially if chocolate is involved. I must say that I agree with them.

Sweet Beauty Chocolate Body Cream moisturizer lotionThe Chocolate Body Cream is amazing. It has a thicker consistency than lotion, but not quite as firm as body butter. More similar to old-fashioned cold cream, it’s almost solid at room temperature, but it does soften when it comes into contact with skin and body heat.

It feels so awesome going on. It may take a little bit longer to work in, but it smells so chocolaty and leaves my skin so soft that I really don’t mind a few extra seconds of effort, especially since it doesn’t leave a greasy residue like some body butters.

Oh, and have I mentioned how incredibly divine this stuff smells? The chocolate scent is pretty prominent but not at all overbearing. A few minutes after application, it mellows into a very subtle clean smell with just a hint of chocolate.

So, to wrap up: Sweet Beauty Chocolate Body Cream is awesome. I love it. I love the way it smells. I love the way it makes my skin smell. I love the way it feels. I love the way it makes my skin feel. I love that it contains only all-natural ingredients and fair-trade organic chocolate. I love everything about it, actually. Yes, I’m very impressed.

Multi-color double ended glass shaft with a smooth texture.I’ve been wanting to try glass sex toys for a while. Like, years, actually. But I was always a bit hesitant because most of them are expensive, and I wasn’t sure I’d like such a hard material. Plus, I’m a rather clumsy person and tend to drop things. Glass typically doesn’t respond well to being dropped. However, when some truly gorgeous glass toys came up for review at, I couldn’t resist the opportunity to try one.

This is the Cyclone Wand from SSA Glass. Isn’t it beautiful? It’s certainly the prettiest sex toy in my collection thus far. And guess what? These toys are very affordable. They’re also made from Pyrex, which is less dense than regular glass so likely to break or shatter. WIN!

Glass has all the safety advantages of metal: nonporous, hygienic, durable, and sterilizable. The artistic designs, slick-smooth surface, and temperature play potential are also bonuses! If you’re interested in reading more about the Cyclone Wand and how I liked it, my full review is posted at, complete with video tour.

Vibrating Makeup Brush ReviewWell, I don’t think you can get any more discreet than this! Pipedream makes a vibrating makeup brush that is perfect for travel or just keeping on hand in your makeup bag or purse.

The Mini-Max Vibrating Makeup Brush comes packaged in a discreet black box, pictured above. It takes three LR44 watch-style batteries, and they are included, which is nice since that’s probably not a battery size most people keep on hand.

The brush’s handle measures close to 3 inches long, with a total length of 4 inches including the bristles. At only around 3/4 of an inch in diameter, it’s small enough to fit just about anywhere. The base is a screw-off battery compartment cap with a dial on the end to turn the vibration on and control the speed. The grated texture around the edge of the control dial makes it easy to grip and turn, but I tend to inadvertently turn the vibration on whenever I replace the cap. Luckily though, this is not a problem as the motor is very quiet. Even at top speed it’s barely audible unless you hold the makeup brush close to your ears.

Like most toys with a dial control, the vibration intensity increases gradually as you turn the dial. There isn’t a lot of range between the lowest and highest speed, and the vibrations are slightly buzzy. The vibration can be felt all along the plastic handle, especially at the smooth part just under the brush. It also travels through the bristles, making this an awesome toy for tickling and teasing. Since this vibe is waterproof, cleaning it is easy with antibacterial soap and warm water or toy cleaner, and storage is no problem.

The Mini-Max Makeup Brush is an ideal product for those new to sex toys and anyone who needs something discreet that can be used for just about anything, from solo play to couple play. The vibrating bristles feel good just about anywhere, so this is a great toy for gentle, all-over body stimulation for relaxation or to jump-start foreplay. For me, the handle isn’t comfortably insertable since the battery compartment cap is squared off and has the raised ridges all around the control dial, but the handle can easily be positioned to stimulate the clitoris and labia.

This vibe would benefit from having more power. Boosting the vibration intensity would create more of a range between the slowest and fasted speed. Also, it would be nice if the handle was insertable, either by rounding off the cap so it’s smooth, or by having the option to remove the brush bristles to reveal an insertable tip underneath. But all in all, I think it’s a fun little gadget to have around.

Oh, and did I mention that it actually works very well as a makeup brush? It’s great for applying powder foundation or blush. It’s similar to a kabuki brush, only a bit smaller and the bristles are more tightly packed together.

In the time since I first reviewed this product, Pipedream has a come out with newer model of the vibrating makeup brush: Vibrating Mini Makeup Brush.

Blue Bird Bullet vibrator ReviewBabeland sent me a Blue Bird Bullet to try. This cute multi-speed vibe is made by California Exotics from body-safe, phthalate-free TPE and takes 2 AA batteries.

The Blue Bird Bullet consists of a bullet-style vibrator encased in a soft and squishy bird. The wings and nose flutter as the bullet vibrates, and the surface is slightly textured with feather-like grooves along the wings and tail in addition to barely noticeable feathers over the body.

I don’t think the texture is prominent enough to make a real difference in stimulation, but it does help keep this toy from looking more like a dolphin than bird.

This material has quite a bit of surface drag, so have plenty of your favorite water-based lube ready. While the surface doesn’t feel particularly sticky, it does attract lint.

This sex toy is not waterproof, and the way the cord attaches into the bullet makes washing it with soap and water awkward and frustrating. Products like this are the reason I keep antibacterial toy cleaneraround.

This vibe is a bit larger than more traditional bullets. It measures 4 inches beak-to-tail with a 3 inch wingspan. The tip of the bird’s beak provides targeted, pinpoint stimulation, while its body and the top curve of its head are great for broader vibrations. But the Blue Bird Bullet’s special feature is how the fluttering wings massage the labia throughout the whole experience.

The battery pack controller connects to the bullet by a thin cord measuring 30 inches, which is just long enough. The easily accessible dial control on the side of the battery pack controls the vibration intensity. At top speed, it is a pretty powerful little bullet. Luckily, it’s not all that loud. It’s audible through bed covers, but not through a closed bedroom door.

I find wired bullets like this especially well-suited for solo play. They can certainly be incorporated into partner sex as well, but using these types of vibes requires both hands, which I personally find inconvenient. Like most bullets, this one is great for clitoral stimulation, and it has the added bonus of those labia-massaging wings.

Because of the shape, it really isn’t meant for insertion. I think a Blue Bird Bullet would be an ideal choice for those looking to move up from a more basic, single-speed vibe, as well as anyone wanting to experience a soft, squishy texture and fluttering wings.

I was pleasantly surprised by this vibrator’s power, and I really like the easy dial control. There are no set speeds; it’s a gradual increase as you turn the dial up. I used it for both solo play and during sex in a variety of positions. While its size isn’t really big enough to get in the way, several times I felt as though a slightly longer cord may have been a good idea.

At least the cord is nice and thin, so it’s not all that awkward to work around. Oh, and I discovered that the vibration didn’t travel so much to the bird’s tail, so that makes a nice little handle to hold it in place.

Dual stimulation dual motor vibrator made from TPR.The Honey Bunny is a rabbit-style vibe, so it simultaneously stimulates the g-spot and clitoris, which is great for solo play or as a precursor to partner sex. Its size and shape make it rather awkward to use during vaginal intercourse, but I see no reason why the Honey Bunny couldn’t be used to stimulate the g-spot and clitoris during anal play.

The body-safe TPR material gives this vibe a very soft and squishy feel. In fact, the shaft itself is very flexible and bendy. The surface, while not exactly sticky, isn’t slick either, so this toy tends to pick up lint. I store mine in the original packaging to help keep it clean. Near the head of the shaft are two ridges, with another two located towards the base. Other than that, the surface texture is smooth. I can’t detect any smell from this toy.

I LOVE the Honey Bunny’s overall design. I find it very stylish and attractive. The lack of intimidating beads or complicated controls might appeal to those looking for their first rabbit-style vibrator to try. The shaft size is fairly substantial, with 5.25 inches of insertable length, a 1.5 inch diameter, and a girth (the width, circumference, or measurement around the outside of the shaft) of about 4.75 inches. This may be a bit large for some who are new to using sex toys, but I personally don’t think the size is at all daunting.

Okay, now down to the technical specs. The Honey Bunny has a super-simple, one button control, conveniently located in the middle of the battery compartment cap at the base of the toy. Push the button to turn the vibe on. It starts at the slowest of 3 speeds. Pushing the button takes you to the next speed, until you’ve reached the fastest speed, then you just push the button again to turn it off. That’s as easy as it gets. The downside of its basic single-button control is that both bullet vibes always operate at the same speed. This is great for anyone who enjoys equal intensity levels for both clitoral and internal stimulation.

As is typical for dual stimulation toys, this one has a rabbit-shaped cover on its small bullet attachment located towards the base. Unlike most other rabbit vibes that have a rotating shaft, the Honey Bunny has another bullet vibrator located towards the top of its shaft. So instead of feeling a twirling sensation, you get continuous vibration.

I’ve read several reviews stating this is a noisy toy. But in my opinion, it’s rather quiet, especially compared to my Rabbit Habit. Perhaps this is because I only recently acquired my Honey Bunny, whereas I’ve had my Rabbit Habit for a while, and maybe with use and age the toys get louder as the moving parts suffer wear and tear. Maybe my newer Honey Bunny is improved over the ones tested by reviewers who found the toy noisy. I really don’t know, but my Honey Bunny is quiet. In fact, I can barely hear it running on the slowest speed.

This is a pretty low-maintenance toy. Just clean with soap and warm water or your favorite toy cleaner. Unfortunately, stuff loves to stick to this toy. Even with keeping it in its original box, it’s a lint and pet hair magnet, so cleaning before and after use is necessary. But we’re doing that anyway, right?

The Honey Bunny comes in a metal box, around the size of a shoebox, with two clasps fastening the lid. There is a clear plastic window on the front displaying the toy, so not really the most discreet packaging for gift purposes. Inside the box is a soft foam insert, and the vibe nestles perfectly in the recessed cut-out. There are not any additional instructions included, but there is basic information about the toy printed on the back of the box.

Not furry little rodents, as cute as they may be, but the kind of rabbits that rotatevibrate, and stimulate. So, what’s all the buzz over these things? The truth is, they work really well for those who like simultaneous internal (G-spot) and clitoral stimulation, because rabbit vibes are dual stimulators.

Dual stimulation dual motor vibrator made from TPR.Dual action vibrator featured in "Sex and the city"Rechargeable silicone dual action vibrating stimulator with powerful independent dual motors, one in the stimulator and one in the tip.Multi functional and waterproof rabbit vibrator made of TPRRechargeable silicone dual action vibrating stimulator with powerful independent dual motors, one in the stimulator and one in the tip.
There are many to choose from, but they all work pretty much the same way. Most models contain beads or pearls that rotate as the insertable shaft moves in a circular motion. Or there may be a motor in the shaft that vibrates.

The rabbit (or butterflydolphin, whatever) is typically a soft material covering an attached bullet. As the little bunny vibrates the soft, flappy ears stimulate the clitoris.

Controls vary by model, and in some cases both motors are controlled by one button, but often the shaft and bunny each have their own control to adjust the speed or intensity independently.

Hitachi magic wand vibrator is a two-speed massager with a soft flexible head. For those new to sex toys, The Hitachi Magic Wand is often considered to be a good one to start with. Mostly because of its power and the fact that it looks nothing like stereotypical sex toys because it’s technically a “massager” not a vibrator. It’s up to the user to decide which body parts to massage.

Hitachi magic wand vibrator is a two-speed massager with a soft flexible head.

By itself, the Hitachi Magic Wand is extremely effective for external vibration massage. The head is slightly giving and mostly smooth, but for those who like some variety in their stimulation, there are textured sleeves available for the top. I’ve heard that Tenga Eggs can also be used as Hitachi sleeves.

For anyone who needs internal stimulation, there are also G-spot attachments that fit right onto the head of the Magic Wand. So, that’s the best of both worlds. Read more about the Hitachi Magic Wand in my Follow-Up Friday post about it.
