Lust: Erotic Fantasies For Women Book Erotica AnthologyI love to read, and sometimes I need material that’s a little more explicit and titillating than my usual literary fiction. I think erotica is often best enjoyed in short story format, which is why I requested a copy of Lust: Erotic Fantasies for Women from GoodVibes.com to review. Edited by Violet Blue and published by Cleis Press, the stories in this paperback showcase various sexy scenarios all keeping with the lust theme.

Lust contains an introduction by the editor, 17 erotic short stories, as well as “About the Authors” and “About the Editor” sections. All of the stories are well written and have convincing characters, with a variety of personalities and perspectives. Many of the stories focus on heterosexual couples, and there are some featuring lesbian, bisexual, and group sex. If you’re looking for anything more extreme than some spanking and BDSM then most of the stories might be too tame for you, but the sex is consistently hot throughout.

Lust: Erotic Fantasies For Women Book Erotica AnthologyRather than summarize each story, I’d rather highlight my favorites.

“Golden Hand” is the first story in the book, and it’s about an anonymous encounter between a horny female pickpocket and her target. When she slips her hand down his pocket to grab what she thought was a wallet, they both get a thrill on the subway ride. I loved this one because it’s a scenario I never would have considered, and the author does a great job of giving us a glimpse into each character’s mind.

Following that is “Ripe Fruit” about some juicy summer fun between a college student and the hot actor who visits the produce stand she’s running. It took me a few pages to get into this one because it involves overripe fruit, and I don’t think sticky sweet goo is all that sexy. But, the characters have such chemistry, and I could appreciate the whole literary symbolism of ripe fruit and sex. It is a fantasy, after all, and once I realized that worrying about the possibility of her getting a raging yeast infection was pointless, I was able to really enjoy the story.

“Coffee Shop Boy” is another favorite, about two coffee shop regulars, and it appeals to my romantic side. Thanks to the author writing from both perspectives, we know what the characters think and their desire for each other, which helps to build up the anticipation and sexual tension. This one ends just a touch on the sappy side, which isn’t what I was expecting, but the sex in it is still dang hot.

I loved “Moving” because the characters were so real, and there’s a lot going on in such a brief story. I also love it because not just twenty-somethings have hot sex, and as this one proves, erotic stories don’t have to be about young people. It focused on a mature man and woman in the process of moving, both literally and figuratively, and desire brings them together. It’s also a moving story (sorry, but it is, and I couldn’t resist).

Of course “Satisfaction Guaranteed” would make my list of favorites because it takes place in a sex toy shop! A shy customer gets some hands-on help from a forward salesman. I found his sex toy knowledge and ability very sexy, and I’m all for women exploring their sexuality in as many ways as they wish. This story reminded me of that hot scene in One Size Fits All when the shop assistant goes above and beyond the call of duty when he “helps” a customer in the dressing room.

You can get Lust: Erotic Fantasies for Women from GoodVibes.com. They have a great selection of books and DVDs, both educational titles and erotica, as well as stream-to-own, download, and pay-by-minute options for adult movies and video.

Babeland.com Gift Card Sex Toys Adult StoreToday is the 2nd anniversary of this blog. I’m not going to ramble on and on about how much I’ve learned since I started reviewing sex toys, except to say that I still have a lot more to learn, but I usually find that’s pretty much true about everything in life.

To celebrate this milestone, I’m hosting a giveaway, and Babeland has generously offered a $25 eGift Card as a prize. In case you haven’t been to Babeland.com lately, they recently launched a redesigned website that’s easy to navigate with quick view and search options to help you find the sex toys and adult products you’re looking for.

Nearly two years ago I started this blog. I didn’t have a vision for it or anything. I just really like sex toys, and this seemed like a fun way to talk about them. Since then, I’ve learned a lot while watching sex toys move into the mainstream and become more generally accepted.

Still, not everybody has a helpful adult shop nearby, so online shopping is often the best option. EdenFantasys carries a huge variety of adult products, and they’re always adding new stuff. In addition to an impressive selection of lube, vibrators, dildos, and bondage gear, you can find anything that helps you feel sexy. Recently I’ve seen quite a lot of new lingerie added, and they now sell some seriously awesome bath and body care products. I appreciate the detailed information posted on every product page, as well as links to reviews of the products. This is incredibly helpful when shopping online, as the more you can find out about a product, the better. Some items might even have video reviews so you can hear the vibration patterns or see how squishy the material is.

I get sex toys from EdenFanatsys by either accepting a product as a review assignment, or by saving up my gift cards and EdenPoints until I have enough to get what I want. This allows me to try a lot of different products, which in turn results in more reviews posted here. And more orgasms.

LELO Tor II sex toy vibrating cock ringI’ll be honest and admit that I’m not a fan of cock rings, vibrating or otherwise. Those disposable ones you find on the condom aisle might be an affordable way to try something like this out, but I personally require more than a single speed of weak vibrations intermittently coming into contact with my vulva.

LELO Tor II sex toy vibrating cock ringI need consistent and strong vibrations on my clitoris, preferably from a sturdy, powerful sex toy that won’t break or move away when I grind against it. Basically, I want something that will magically transforms a real penis into a dual stimulator.

Usually with sex toys you get what you pay for, so logically a higher quality cock ring might work better. But I’m hesitant to spend money (or gift cards, whatever) on something I’m not convinced I’ll like for a body part that I don’t even have. I’m so horribly cheap that way, you see, which is pretty much why this blog exists.

When cock rings have been on offer as review products, I just didn’t request them, opting instead for an actual dual stimulator or some other sex toy designed for women. But LELO recently revamped their Tor luxury cock ring and contacted me about receiving one to try. While a some of their newer products have been disappointing, I was game to try this one, hoping that it might change my opinion on cock rings. Or at the very least produce strong enough vibrations to get me off.

LELO Tor II sex toy vibrating cock ring packagingLELO products are well packaged, as you would expect from a luxury product line, and Tor II comes in the typical LELO black box. Despite the photo on the outer box being of a green Tor II, and the box itself saying that it contained a green Tor II, there was a black Tor II inside the box I received. Maybe black is the new green? It doesn’t really matter, because I honestly don’t care what color my sex toys are. I don’t tend to look at them that much when they’re in use, and I have to keep them all tucked away out of sight when they’re not.

LELO Tor II sex toy vibrating cock ringMany lesser cock rings are made from sticky TPR, but Tor II is that lovely, velvety silicone that feels so soft. It’s also nice and stretchy. Tor II is powered by a multi-speed (with patterns) motor that’s rechargeable and reported to be considerably stronger than the original Tor. I don’t have one of those to test the theory, but it’s certainly way stronger than any bullet on a cock ring I’ve had experience with. It’s not as powerful as my Siri, but then again, it’s also a lot smaller.

Tor II has two buttons, one on either side of the bullet. The + button turns the vibe on and increases the power/changes the vibration setting, and the – button decreases the speed or turns the motor completely off when you press and hold it a few seconds. The + and – symbols are raised, but the buttons themselves are slightly recessed, and while that keeps the design sleek and tidy, it also makes them a little tricky to find and press while the cock ring is in use, especially with slick fingers. There are 6 speeds of constant vibration, starting out nice and rumbly but getting slightly buzzier at the faster speeds. The motor really is quiet, though, which is wonderful.

To access the patterns, press and hold the + button until the vibe is going at top speed, then let go. Press and hold the + button again, and that takes it to patterns mode. Keep pressing the + button to cycle through the settings. There’s a busy signal pulse, a short-sharp pulse, a revving pulse, a roller coaster pulse with a gentle escalation in power, and then a random, impossible-to-describe pulse. I pretty much stick with the constant vibration speeds.

LELO Tor II sex toy vibrating cock ringThe charging cable plugs into a hole by the – button. There’s a tiny light that flashes when it’s charging. The user’s manual says that this light is red while charging and then turns white once it’s fully charged. Also, I think the light is supposed to emit a steady glow. The light on my Tor II is more of an amber color, and it flashes. Either way, it still works fine, so I’m not worried about it.

I haven’t timed how long a charge lasts because I usually plug my rechargeable toys in to top up their charge after each use (once I’ve cleaned them). I can tell you that I’ve had the motor on my Tor II running continuously for a little over an hour and didn’t notice any decrease in power.

LELO Tor II sex toy vibrating cock ring on an Icicles glass dildoThe first few times I used this cock ring, I didn’t have immediate access to a penis, so I got out a few of my non-vibrating dildos to put it on. The cool thing about doing this is that the vibrations travel, and depending on the dildo’s material (I guess it’s a density thing?) you might be able to really feel the vibrations internally, thereby possibly turning your favorite dildo into a dual stimulation sex toy. The silicone is stretchy enough that Tor II can easily be fitted onto the base of my Icicles No. 9, but I prefer to just have it on the shaft, where it slides freely up and down so I can adjust its position.

While Tor II is undoubtedly the nicest cock ring I’ve ever used, on a real penis there’s still the issue of the vibrating part only coming into contact with me on the “in” thrust, then it gets pulled back away. This might be fun for those who enjoy teasing, but by the time I have a penis inside me, I’m pretty much done with the teasing phase and want consistent stimulation.

In order to achieve that with a cock ring, the penis has to be all the way inside me and stay there. That’s not really an enhancement to intercourse, in my opinion. It’s more like letting a penis hold my clit vibe in place. Even then, the vibrating part doesn’t reach my clitoris very well. I can feel the vibrations radiating out from the cock ring, but forget about any kind of pinpoint stimulation.

I know there are men and women who love cock rings. I’m just not one of them. Call me a control freak, but I’d rather use a hand-held clit vibe during sex and have it consistently be where I need it rather than struggling with getting the vibrating part of a cock ring to hit the right spot during the brief moments it comes into contact with me. Don’t get me wrong, the Tor II is a high quality sex toy and works just as it should, so for those who enjoy cock rings and want to treat themselves to a little luxury, this is one to check out.

LELO Siri luxury vibrator sex toyAs I mentioned in my LELO Tor II review, I like powerful, rumbly, and consistent vibrations on my clitoris. Out of all the clit vibes I’ve reviewed thus far, the LELO Siriis my current favorite. It beats the LayaSpot because it’s stronger and rechargeable, and even though Siri isn’t waterproof, I still prefer it to my MiMi because its buttons are so much easier to find and press than those tiny, overly-firm buttons on MiMi.

Siri fits nicely in my hand, is small enough to use during intercourse, and I love the velvety silicone covering the business end. Not only does Siri have multiple speeds of constant vibration, but you can also adjust the intensity within the vibration patterns. But the really good news is that SinFreeToys.com is letting me give one away! That’s right, one lucky reader will win a pretty pink LELO Siri.

Entering to win is easy, thanks to the Rafflecopter widget posted below. Giveaway starts now and runs until March 26, 2012. Winner will be randomly selected from all valid entries and notified via email. Good luck!

Denma Pinky Wand Massager Vibrator Sex Toy ReviewThe first compact wand-style massager I reviewed was the Denma Lady by Mode Design, makers of the Paris Style vibe and an impressive selection of male masturbation toys. I recently featured my Denma Lady, or what was left of it, in a What’s Inside Wednesday post because I broke the head off. I’ve mentioned before that I’m very clumsy, and I think I maybe enjoyed it a little too much the last time I used it.

Well, the nice people at QueenCatAdultToys.com sent me a Denma Pinky, which is a newer model, as a replacement. This one is also waterproof, but unlike the Denma Lady, Denma Pinky is rechargeable via USB, which is awesome because I love rechargeable vibes. Also, Denma Pinky doesn’t have any vibration patterns, but it does offer four speeds of constant vibration.

Denma Pinky Wand Massager Sex Toy Review Dimensions MeasurementsThe packaging is a thin plastic box, and nearly everything is written in Japanese, but it’s easy to figure this vibe out with no instructions. Inside the box is the vibe, charging cable, and a black storage pouch made from a thin, almost mesh-like fabric.

To charge it up, twist off the cap on the handle to expose the port where the charging cable plugs into the vibe. Then just connect the other end to your USB source of choice, and wait. The keypad turns red while it’s charging, and then after a while (I didn’t bother timing it) the light goes off, presumably when it’s fully charged.

To turn the Denma Pinky on, press and hold the power button a few seconds. This keeps it from accidentally getting bumped on when traveling or while being stored. The power button will light up, letting you know the power is on. To start the motor, just press the + button (now all buttons are lit up). To increase the speed, hit the + again, or to decrease speed press the – button. Pushing the power button turns the motor off.

Denma Pinky Wand Massager Vibrator Sex Toy ReviewThe vibrations aren’t very rumbly, but they’re not too buzzy, either. The slowest setting is great for getting things going, then I prefer the middle two speeds. At top speed the motor sounds more high-pitched and faster, while not feeling any stronger, if that makes sense. At the lower two speeds this vibe is fairly quiet, but the motor definitely becomes more audible at the higher settings.

Denma Pinky Wand Massager Vibrator Sex Toy ReviewThe neck on this vibe is just as bendy as the neck on Denma Lady, so this is a great choice for those who like a flexible head on their wand-style massages and don’t care about pulse patterns. Since I like to grind against my toys, I would definitely prefer a stiffer neck. Denma Pinky’s head is covered by a silky-smooth silicone sleeve, which feels awesome.

I really like the handy size, and I prefer the shape of Denma Pinky’s handle to the one on Denma Lady. It’s not as wide so it fits better in my hand, and a flat base means this vibe can stand up on its own. Also, I don’t feel the vibrations very much in the handle. This is definitely an advantage for those who don’t like numb hands, but the bendy neck means that I sometimes have to hold the head in place, and I can definitely feel the vibrations in my hand then.

As far as I know, Mode Design products are only available in the U.S. through QueenCatAdultToys.com. Retailers and distributors interested in these sex toys should contact them for more information.

Ultimate Guide to Orgasm for Women book

Front Cover

Babeland sent me The Ultimate Guide to Orgasm for Women by Mikaya Heart to review an embarrassingly long time ago. Really, I should have had this review posted way before now, but the book took me ages to finish–not because it’s boring or unpleasant to read, as it’s actually quite insightful and well written. It’s just that I thought I’d get it read over the holidays, since that’s when I tend to do a lot of reading. Unfortunately, I neglected to consider that I usually read on my Kindle, and this isn’t the sort of book cover I can flash open just any time I feel like perusing a few chapters.

Published by Cleis Press, The Ultimate Guide to Orgasm for Women has 248 pages, a forward by Violet Blue, a comprehensive list of resources, information about safer sex, and a helpful questionnaire in the appendices, as well as an index. I note the presence of an index because for me the lack of one is often a deal breaker. I like to be able to find the information I’m looking for quickly and easily, and a few times I’ve been seriously disappointed in what was otherwise a fantastic book, only to find that nobody bothered to include an index.

Ultimate Guide to Orgasm for Women book

Back cover

There are 11 chapters covering the subject of female orgasm from just about every angle imaginable, starting with what the author defines as the facets of sexual play (communication, laughter, and acceptance of diversity) before moving on to the basics of  anatomy, and then covering other topics like masturbation, the many ways orgasms can be experienced (namely physically, energetically, and spiritually), early sexual experiences, and relationships. The later chapters focus on penetration, G-spot stimulation, female ejaculation, fisting, and anal sex.

The information contained in this book is useful, accurate, and presented well. From the beginning Heart does her best to debunk the myth of a “definitive orgasm” by citing facts and research, and throughout the book there are quotes from women describing their various experiences relating to orgasm. I think the author is trying to demonstrate the many different ways women can orgasm, and the diverse range of feelings and sensations associated with their arousal and orgasm. The bottom line here is that everybody orgasms their own way, and there’s no such thing as a wrong way to have an orgasm. This should be reassuring to women who find that their sexual experiences don’t quite match what they’ve read, seen, or heard should be happening.

Heart stresses the importance of masturbation as a way of tuning into and learning your own body so that you’re more able to communicate your needs to your partner. While she does mention the use of sex toys and vibrators as useful tools to help a woman achieve orgasm and/or experience different kinds of stimulation, she recommends touching yourself with your own hands so that you can truly feel what your body is doing and how it responds.

If you’re looking for a guide that gives you an exact scientific or more formulaic method for achieving orgasm (e.g., “stimulate clitoris in a circular motion for X minutes”) then this isn’t that book. Sure, there are plenty of useful tips, suggestions, and techniques, but the focus is more on letting go, learning about your body, communicating with your partner, and doing what feels good to you in order to attain sexual satisfaction. I did find the sections on Tantra and Kundalini very helpful, as well as the information on using breath and meditation. Personality-wise, I’m someone who has very little patience, and those are techniques I’ve started to explore, in the hope that such exercises will improve my life overall, not just sexually.

I think this book is a great place to start for women who are looking to improve their sex life, whether they already have orgasms or not. Healing and recovering from bad early sexual experiences and abuse is also addressed throughout the book, and I think the author really wants every women to have the ability to enjoy her body and sex life to the fullest, regardless of background and cultural expectations. Even those who have already let all that baggage go and know about the importance of communication, being in the moment, and allowing our bodies to do what they do could pick up some useful tips and information. There’s always more to learn.

Evolved Novelties Dream Maker Nocturnal Emission Rabbit Vibrator Sex ToyI remember the first time I saw an Evolved Dream Maker rabbit vibe. It was many month ago at the local porn store, where they had a big display stand full of Evolved products. I wasn’t looking for anything in particular at the time, but I’d already tried a couple of Evolved toys and really liked them. The sales associate pointed out a pink Dream Maker Lunar Rabbit to me, raving on about how it had like 600+ functions.

Since said sales associate was a guy, I doubt he had any first hand experience using it, but maybe he just assumed a lone woman roaming around the sex toys section of an adult book store would want a pink rabbit.

Evolved Novelties Dream Maker Nocturnal Emission Rabbit Vibrator Sex ToyI didn’t buy that Dream Maker Lunar Rabbit, even though I was seriously curious about all the different functions, and back then I rarely encountered a dual stimulation vibe I didn’t like. Instead, I filed it away on my mental wish list and resolved to see if I could get one for free to review. As luck would have it, good things do come to those who wait, because included in my care package from Evolved was a Dream Maker vibe!

It wasn’t the pink Lunar Rabbit. Even better, it was a model I hadn’t seen before called the Nocturnal Emission. Aside from being purple, it also differs from the Lunar Rabbit in that it has spinning disks in place of rotating beads or pearls. That’s definitely something unique, and I love trying new stuff.

Evolved Novelties Dream Maker Nocturnal Emission Rabbit Vibrator Sex ToyJust so you know, there are actually 4 different Dream Makers. In addition to the 2 already mentioned, there’s a purple Heavenly Dolphin, which is similar to the Lunar Rabbit and has rotating beads, but the shaft curves towards the top. And then there’s the Night Cap, which is pink and has spinning disks like my Nocturnal Emission, but instead of having a tapered, slightly curved tip, it’s a more realistic phallic shape.

Evolved Novelties Dream Maker Nocturnal Emission Rabbit Vibrator Sex ToyI’m willing to bet all these Dream Makers come in the same metal box with a hinged plastic lid and metal clasp closure. I didn’t receive any user instructions in mine, apart from a card warning me to not bend the shaft. They’re also all covered with TPR, which is a phthalates free, and often squishy, material.

I did notice a slight plastic/chemical smell when I first opened my Nocturnal Emission, but after a few washings and some airing it dissipated for the most part. Also, these vibes are waterproof, so they’re shower/bath friendly and easy to clean, as well as compatible with water-based and silicone lube.

Evolved Novelties Dream Maker Nocturnal Emission Rabbit Vibrator Sex ToyAs it turns out, there aren’t over 600 functions, which is actually a relief because how in the world would I list them all?  But there are over 600 possible combinations of speeds and settings. Like most rabbit-style vibes, this one has 2 motors which are independently controlled. Both the clit bullet and shaft motor have 5 speeds within 5 vibration modes.

This means that the user can adjust the vibration intensity of each function, which is awesome, and each motor in and of itself has 25 different settings. Considering that you can mix and match what each motor is doing, that makes over 600 variations total (25 x 25 = 625).

Evolved Novelties Dream Maker Nocturnal Emission Rabbit Vibrator Sex ToyThe best way to get an idea of the various settings is to watch the video posted below, but here’s a brief rundown of the shaft modes, in order: clockwise rotation, counter-clockwise rotation, alternating rotation direction after every turn, alternating rotation direction after every half turn, and a pulse-like motion where the shaft moves in short bursts with very brief pauses in a clockwise direction.

The clitoral bullet has constant vibration, a busy signal pulse, a short sharp pulse, a pattern of 6 very short pulses followed by a long pulse, and an escalating vibration (this one is interesting because when the intensity peaks, the vibration remains constant for a few seconds before going back to escalating).

While all these options are great and a lot of fun to explore, they require more complicated controls to operate. Luckily, there is a separate power button right in the middle of the control pad, so no matter where you are in the cycle of settings, you have an instant off.

The pointy buttons on either side control the vibration speed–the ones on the right are for the shaft, and the left ones are for the clitoral stimulator. The top arrow/shark fin shaped buttons increase the speed, and the bottom ones decrease it. If either motor is running at its slowest speed, pressing the down button will turn it off.

The circular buttons change the function, and there are lights arranged in a star shape that illuminate and flash while the vibe is running, I suppose to indicate which setting or speed you’re using, but I haven’t really paid that much attention to them.

Evolved Novelties Dream Maker Nocturnal Emission Rabbit Vibrator Sex ToyWhen you press the power button to turn the vibe on, no matter which mode it was in when you last used it, both motors start out on the lowest vibration setting and first function (clockwise rotation for the shaft and constant vibration for the bunny).

It took me a while to figure all this out, and because the buttons are pretty small, plus I’m rather clumsy, it’s easy to push the wrong button. This can be frustrating depending where I am in my play session, but I typically stick with continuous vibrations and don’t mess around with patterns much. That keeps it simple for me.

Evolved Novelties Dream Maker Nocturnal Emission Rabbit Vibrator Sex ToyBoth of the motors have a lot of oomph, considering Dream Maker Nocturnal Emission runs on 4 AAA batteries. I don’t notice any decrease in the shaft’s power even when I’m clenching on it and have the bunny at full tilt. Which, by the way, I find to be too much for me. I’m perfectly happy with the bunny at speeds 1 through 3.

The battery compartment cap is flat, so this vibe can stand up on its own, and the batteries go in one of those slide-out cartridges so it’s easy to figure out which way to install them. The back of the handle has finger-sized grooves which I hoped would help with grip, but I honestly can’t tell that they make that much difference to me.

The rabbit shape just has a single ear, and I tend to prefer 2 ears (or multiple flappy bits) since I really like to feel them flutter around on my clitoris. But where the bunny attaches to the shaft is very bendy so you can really open up the angle if you need to. Neither the nose nor the ear hits me perfectly in just the right spot, but between them they come close enough to work for me.

I can’t say that I detect a huge difference in sensation with the spinning disks compared to beads, though. It does feel different, just not drastically so, and I’m unsure how to describe it. It’s almost wavelike, if you watch how they move around in the shaft.

Overall, the Nocturnal Emission is a very good rabbit vibe, and I rate it a 4 out of 5. If it was silicone and rechargeable I’d give it 5 stars. While the dimension might not be the perfect fit for me, they’re close enough to get the job done well, and I really like the shaft’s curved tip and the powerful motors. Thank you, Evolved Novelties for sending me one to review!

This un-scented & un-coloured formula has all of the same great benefits of our original ultra moisturizing & light weight body mousse, specially formulated for extra sensitive skin.As I’ve often mentioned, my skin gets really dry, especially this time of year. I’m always up for trying new moisturizers and lotions because I never know if something might work better for me than what I’m currently using or have previously used.

I do have rather sensitive skin though, so I try to avoid anything containing parabens and stick with all-natural products whenever possible. I seriously love the Intimate Organics Body Souffle, but I go through that stuff fairly quickly, and it’s been out of stock for ages.

Cake Supreme Body Mousse skin care lotionIn addition to all the sex toys and lingerie they sell, EdenFantasys.com recently added a bevy of bath and body products to their offerings, so I decided to try the Cake Supreme Body Mousse. I’m not a fan of heavily perfumed lotions, so I opted for the “unsweet” because it’s unscented. It’s also paraben-free, and claims to be good for sensitive skin.

I diligently read the labels on everything I use, from food to lube to body care products, and whenever I come across ingredients I can’t identify, I look them up. Often something simple like a coconut oil derivative or a particular vitamin can have scary-sounding clinical names.

Cake Supreme Body Mousse skin care lotionThere were a few such ingredients in this lotion, so I’ve listed them below, but there’s nothing in Cake Supreme Body Mousse that particularly concerns me. Obviously, since it has glycerin in it I won’t be using it anywhere near my genitals, but then again, I never planned to.

Ingredients:

  • Water
  • Glycerin
  • Caprylic/Capric triglyceride: This is fractionated coconut oil, which is often used in cosmetics as a thickener as well as to maintain moisture on the surface of the skin.
  • Cetyl alcohol: A fatty alcohol often used in lotions and creams as an emulsifier.
  • Stearic acid: A fatty acid used as an emulsifier and surfactant in cosmetics.
  • Sunflower seed oil
  • Coconut oil (presumably not fractionated)
  • Macadamia integrifolia seed oil: From macadamia nuts, acts as a skin conditioning agent.
  • Mango alcohol (don’t drink this lotion)
  • Isopropyl palmiate: Used in cosmetics and skin care products as a binder and lubricant.
  • Dimethicone: A silicone based polymer that’s widely used in skin care products as a conditioner and protectant.
  • Vitamin E
  • Aloe barbadensis leaf juice (aloe vera juice)
  • Phenoxyethanol: This inhibits microbial growth.
  • Caprylyl Glycol: A preservative and skin conditioning agent.
  • Sorbic Acid: Preservative.
  • Carbomer: Acts as an emulsifier and helps to maintain consistency.
  • Triethanolamine: Helps control the pH and also acts as an emulsifier.
  • Tetrasodium EDTA: Preservative.

Cake Supreme Body Mousse skin care lotionCake Supreme Body Mousse comes in a clear plastic bottle with a flip-top cap. Even though it’s a thick lotion, it’s easy to dispense with just a quick squeeze of the bottle. Because it’s called a “mousse” I really expected this lotion to have a light and airy, almost whipped consistency similar to the Intimate Organics Body Souffle (I must admit that I really don’t understand the fascination with naming skin care products after food). But instead, it’s like regular lotion with more of a waxy feel.

Cake Supreme Body Mousse skin care lotionIt spreads nicely, rubs in easily, and feels good on my skin when applied. It does leave a slightly moist-feeling residue for a few moments before it totally gets absorbed–or maybe whatever is left of it on my skin’s surface just simply dissipates, but I don’t mind that in the least.

I’ve used other lotions in the past that left an unpleasant greasy feel or otherwise didn’t seem to sink into my skin very well. I don’t experience that with Cake Supreme Body Mousse. It  makes my skin feel very soft and moisturized, which isn’t an easy task.

A pea-sized amount is plenty to cover my hands, and a dime-sized blob of it will do my hands and forearms, but I’m pretty heavy-handed with the stuff and freely admit that I slather on more than I really need. Maybe if I used less then it would absorb more quickly.

Cake Supreme Body Mousse skin care lotionOh, and this is by far the best-smelling unscented lotion I’ve ever used. That may not make a lot of sense, because really, it shouldn’t smell like anything. But some unscented products I’ve tried seemed to pick up the smell of their plastic packaging, or otherwise have a faint smell that isn’t really bad, but it’s still there.

This stuff has an ever-so-slight scent to it that is very nice, if hard to describe. It’s not fruity, but more of a clean, fresh, and very subtle aroma without smelling at all soapy. I’m definitely glad I got some of this, thanks to accumulated gift cards and reward points, and I’m eager to see what some of the other Cake Beauty products are like.

Zero Tolerance Oral Sex Candy Water Based Flavored Oral Sex SprayIncluded in the goody box of products I received from Evolved Novelties was a bottle of Zero Tolerance Oral Sex Candy Spray, which is something I never even knew existed, much less tried. I’m sure I’ve mentioned this before, but one of the things I love about reviewing sex toys is getting to sample new and different products. As far as manufacturers go, I like Evolved. They’re responsible for my beloved Croupier, as well as the Silky G and Bliss vibrators. Plus, their products are made from body-safe materials, well-packaged, and affordable.

Zero Tolerance Oral Sex Candy Water Based Flavored Oral Sex SprayI didn’t know this, but in addition to sex toys, Evolved has a production company called Zero Tolerance, which has a male line of products that includes the Oral Sex Candy Spray. I actually misread the label at first and thought it was oral sex flavored candy spray, which totally threw me for a loop, until I saw the word WATERMELON across the bottom. That made more sense to me.

This isn’t a flavored lube, and even if it was I wouldn’t be able to use it for that purpose because it contains glycerin (I have sensitivities). Rather, this product is more along the lines of flavored body paints and edible dusts. Only this is a watermelon flavored liquid that you spray on any body part you want flavored. It comes in 2 oz pump-top bottle with a clear cap, and in addition to watermelon, there are three other flavors available: strawberry, raspberry, and cherry.

Zero Tolerance Oral Sex Candy Water Based Flavored Oral Sex SprayPersonally, the real taste of my partner’s skin turns me on more the taste of watermelon, or any other fruit for that matter. Perhaps that’s not the case with some people, and this spray may help those who aren’t so fond of the way their partner tastes get more enthusiastic about oral play. Either way, it can be a fun product to use for the novelty if nothing else. After all, it is something different, and I’m all for a little experimentation. Introducing new ideas, activities, and/or props into bedroom play is a great way to explore your sexuality. And this spray is water-based, so it’s condom and toy safe.

Oral Sex Candy Spray is a thin liquid, like water, and dispenses in a fine mist when you push the pump top. It reminds me of sore throat spray, only without the nasty medicine taste. I love watermelon itself, but oddly enough I don’t like watermelon-flavored stuff. Still, while I’d probably prefer one of the other flavors, this tastes okay. Imagine watermelon flavored candy, only not nearly as sweet.

Even though this product contains glycerin, I still really like the list of ingredients because it doesn’t have any artificial sweeteners, flavors, or dyes in it. Oral Sex Candy Spray is made with:

  • glycerin
  • purified water
  • flavor
  • sodium benzoate (preservative)
  • potassium sorbate (preservative)
  • citric acid (preservative and for flavor)

According to the label, this product leaves no aftertaste or sticky residue, and for the most part I agree. Compared to a couple of other flavored body novelties I’ve tried in the past, this one’s flavor is rather subtle to begin with, and while the taste does linger in my mouth for a little while, it’s not for long and barely noticeable. I was very pleasantly surprised by the lack of a sticky feeling on my skin, though. Usually whenever I use any kind of flavored lube or oil there’s cleanup afterwards, but this stuff rinses right off.

While I’m not a fan of this particular flavor, or really products like this in general, if I had to use a flavored, apply-it-to-your-body-and-lick-it-off type substance, I’d go for something like this because of the all-natural ingredients, mild taste, and easy clean up. For those reasons, I give Oral Sex Candy Spray 4 out of 5 stars.
