Earlier this week I participated in Toy With Me Tuesday, a fun way for those of us with numerous sex toys to get a bit creative and show them off. I featured all my current wand-style massagers: Hustler Mini Mistress, Mystic Wand Rechargeable, Denma PinkyTwilite Wand Massager, and of course “El Presidente” Hitachi Magic Wand.

The Hitachi was one of my first vibrators, and I’ve had it for years. I acquired the Hustler Mini Mistress as a review assignment from EdenFantasys, and that’s also where I ordered my Mystic Wand, thanks to saved up EdenPoints. The other two were sent to me for free to review, so I consider myself very lucky in that I have a wand massager for pretty much any occasion and need: I have 2 powerul plug-in wands, one of which also runs off USB, a waterproof battery-powered wand, and 2 rechargeable wands.

But what if you can’t buy multiple wands? It can sometimes be tricky deciding on the right sex toy when shopping online, and trying to sort through all the products in any given category is overwhelming. Luckily, EdenFantasys has a handy product comparison tool to help make sex toy shopping easier. You can add as many products as you like, and then you can compare them side-by-side in an easy to read chart format.

It’s really simple to use, too! On every product page, there’s a link where you can add that item to the comparison. You’ll even get some EdenPoints for doing it.

If you change your mind and don’t want to include that product in the comparison, just click that same text link again to remove it.

Continue adding all the sex toys you want to compare by visiting their product pages and clicking on the “Add to comparison” link. Then, when you’re ready to view the products side-by-side, just click on the “Compare” link at the top of the webpage, near the search box.

The number of items in product comparison

That will take you to the product comparison chart, where you can see the features, measurements, prices, and materials of each item, as well as any current promotions or sales, making it easier for you to choose the best sex toy for your needs.

Wand Massager Comparison

I could only capture the top of the chart in this screen shot for the wands, but you can see the full comparison here: Which Wand.

Also, while I wanted to use all my Toy With Me Tuesday wands for this example, EdenFantasys doesn’t carry the Twilite Wand Massager or the Denma Pinky. But I did find a small CalExotics wand that looks similar to the the Denma Lady, so I went with that instead. Oh, and for fun I also included one of the new LELO wands in the comparison.

Wahl 7-in1 Massager Vibrator ReviewBelieve it or not, I didn’t know such as thing as the Wahl electric massager even existed until I had already been reviewing sex toys for a few months. I’m no stranger to the Wahl brand, as I’ve used their clippers for years, and the company has been around forever. As it turns out, they were one of the first to come out with an electric vibrator. The history of women’s hysteria is actually quite fascinating.

So I’ve been curious about the Wahl for a while now, but I only recently received one from Babeland to review. The Wahl definitely looks more like a funky hairdryer or  household power tool than something I’d use to get off with. But then, according to the manufacturer, it’s really not meant to be used as a sex toy. In the owner’s manual under “Warning” it clearly states that the Wahl massager is not to be used on the genital areas. What?! There’s no fun in that.

Wahl 7-in1 Massager Vibrator ReviewOh, and also according to the instructions you’re not supposed to use the Wahl massager for longer than 20 minutes. Assuming these warnings are akin to the “for novelty only” CYA disclaimers printed on the boxes of lesser sex toys, the first place I put this thing was between my legs. And no way did I bother timing it.

The Wahl 7-in-1 comes in a thin cardboard box covered with pictures of the massager and attachments. It looks innocent enough, and it even comes with a product registration card and everything, like the hair clippers. Out of the box, the “General Body Attachment” is already on it, with the other 6 heads sealed in a plastic bag.

Wahl 7-in1 Massager Vibrator ReviewThe power cord is long enough to reach from the wall to the bed, thank goodness. One of the things that annoys me about using my Hitachi Magic Wand is the fact that I’m so closely tethered to the socket unless I can find an extension cord.

Another advantage Wahl has over the Hitachi is that it’s quiet. With some attachments it makes a bit of noise, depending on how I have the surfaces positioned against me, but the motor itself is virtually silent compared to the racket my Hitachi makes.

Wahl 7-in1 Massager Vibrator ReviewBut I’m guessing what you really want to know–at least, what I was itching to find out–is which massager is more powerful. Both have 2 speeds, and on low the Hitachi is definitely stronger, but on high the Wahl wins out. There is a larger variance in the power settings on the Wahl: its low is weaker than Hitachi’s low, and its high is stronger than top speed on the Hitachi. Or so it feels to me, at least.

Having said that, the vibrations feel different. Wahl’s low is almost a touch buzzy, but on high it’s like a heavy, throbbing jackhammer it’s so rumbly, whereas the Hitachi seems more rumbly on low speed and feels a bit more buzzy on high. While testing the Wahl, I’ve often found low to not be enough, but high borders on too much. More than once I’ve had to switch over to the Hitachi since both its speeds are more powerful than the Wahl on low.

For the record, I did try this massager on other body areas. Each of the 7 attachments has a different purpose and/or target, and since I try to be a thorough product reviewer I used them to massage their intended areas. And then I went back to trying them on my clit. Several times each, in fact, just to be sure. But not all at once, of course, since the Wahl is only supposed to be used for 20 minutes at a time.

The attachments are made from PVC, and I was rather surprised by how little give there is to them. The general all-body attachment looks like a suction cup, and I think that’s the one I generally prefer to use. There’s a also a flatter, more shallow disk resembling a suction cup that’s meant for facial massage. This one has a nice wide surface for grinding my clit against, but it felt dreadful on my face.

It’s a shame the Wahl isn’t supposed to be used on genitals, because I don’t enjoy using this tool as a massager on other body parts. The scalp attachment is a flat disk with raised spikes, and to me that didn’t feel at all pleasant–it was too strong and fast and made my teeth chatter, and I think the spikes are too firm. Both the deep muscle attachment and spot applicator have rounded tips, and I could see where they could have therapeutic use in working out muscle cramps and so forth, but they’re also great if you like pinpoint stimulation your clitoris.

The knuckle/joint attachment looks like a wide arrow point, and the muscle kneading attachment is a flat square with raised ridges. The top edge of the triangle is great for pinpoint vibration on the clitoris (or anywhere, for that matter), and then the flat sides can be used for more broad stimulation. I haven’t quite figured out the best way to enjoy the muscle kneading attachment yet, so I’m still a bit undecided about that one.

I don’t consider these attachments to be that much of an advantage because I only use a couple of them, and I honestly think I prefer the Hitachi’s big rounded head. Even if I totally loved the Wahl, I’d still need the Hitachi and Gee Whiz attachment in my sex toy arsenal, despite all the noise and awkwardness. I’m not so sure I need to have a Wahl, but I’m glad I do. I suppose I really need to get off my arse and review an Eroscillator already.

I probably sound flippant by disregarding the manufacturer’s safety guidelines for using this massager, but I hate imposing a time limit on my masturbation sessions. In all honesty though, you probably wouldn’t want to use the Wahl on your clit for much longer than 20 minutes anyway, especially at high speed. It’s powerful enough to get me off in a matter of seconds, and after several orgasms I do notice some desensitization, which is totally temporary.

To Protect and Serve Erotica eBook ReviewI love sexy stories. Every once in a while I fall into an erotica groove, and during these times that’s all I want to read. Strangely enough, I seem to get in these can’t-get-enough-smut moods at the beginning of summer.

I don’t know if it’s the warmer weather heating things up on all fronts or my brain automatically lapsing into slacker mode once the community pool opens, but what better way to spend a hot sunny day than lounging in the shade reading some fresh new erotica? Especially when it’s on my Kindle so I don’t have to worry about anyone else knowing what I’m reading.

About a month ago, up-and-coming erotica writer Giavanna Desiderare contacted me, wanting to know if I’d be interested in reading her story, To Protect and Serve. Since my dirty mind lacks any creativity and imagination of its own, I’m always up for new inspiration, so I readily agreed.

This story is about a career-driven policewoman named Lizzy. While her accomplishments at work are due to hard work and ambition, her colleagues suspect she traded sexual favors for those frequent promotions. This leaves Lizzy feeling somewhat isolated in her small town. Add to that the fact she spends all her time working, leaving little opportunity for romance or a sex life, and you have a powerful woman who is respected in the community but not particularly liked, with presumably very little sexual experience.

We do get a short glimpse of Lizzy’s sexual past during a flashback when she recalls losing her virginity to a distant cousin named Daynan one summer. As far as deflowering scenes go, it’s pretty short and to the point, but it provides the background for the present story line, as Lizzy must track down fugitive Daynan after he escapes from police custody. She knows where to find him, and their encounter soon escalates into a steamy sex scene.

While this particular piece of erotica is a bit on the raw side, it has potential. I hope the author continues writing about Lizzy, either with Daynan or other partners. To Protect and Serve seems like it should be part of a bigger story, and I would enjoy reading other snippets of Lizzy’s life, perhaps in a series of short story chronicles or something.

To Protect and Serve is currently available on amazon.com in Kindle format, and Giavanna Desiderare also has an erotica blog at Giavanna’s Dirty Mind.

Tantus G-Spot Silicone DildoUnlike some of the more seasoned sex toy reviewers, I don’t have that much experience with Tantus products. So far I’ve only reviewed the Little Secret Kiss and Elements Delta, but they were enough to make me realize I definitely needed to get more Tantus in my life.

Not long after I reviewed the Ophoria Beyond No. 3, I decided to get a Tantus G-Spot silicone dildo, so this is a sex toy I’ve actually had for quite a while. I chose it primarily because it has a curved, bulbous tip like the Beyond No. 3, only the Tantus G-Spot is totally seamless. See! It CAN be done! Oh, and mine is a lovely pearly purple color, for those of you who like pretty sex toys. Sadly, my photos don’t do it justice.

Tantus G-Spot Silicone Dildo MeasurementsI totally forgot to take pictures of the box, but packaging for this product is the same as the other two Tantus sex toys I have: a thin plastic box with product information printed on the back and sides. Inside the box, both the dildo and accompanying bullet vibe are held in place by a clear molded tray. Not really useful for storage, so I recycled the packaging and keep my G-Spot dildo in a plastic bag.

Obviously designed for G-spot stimulation (so it’s also aptly named), this dildo is actually rather versatile. It has a flat base, making it harness compatible and safe for anal play, but it’s too top heavy to easily stand up on its own. There’s also a hole in the base to accommodate a small bullet vibe, which is included and ready to go with the dreaded watch batteries that power it.

Tantus G-Spot Silicone Dildo SizeHonestly, the vibrations from the bullet are too weak to do much for me by the time they’ve traveled through the silicone, but there’s no law against finding a stronger bullet that will fit in the base and using that instead. Just don’t forget to put a little water-based lube on the bullet so it will be easy to remove later.

I’m not sure why it has taken me so long to get a review posted, because I really do love this dildo. I first used it many, many months ago, and I’ve brought it out numerous times since then. It’s a great one for when I need to feel something inside me.

Like the Beyond No. 3, my Tantus G-Spot dildo just slips right into place, with the rounded head against my G-spot. While the silicone is too flexible for applying any kind of serious pressure there, the curved shape and bulbous head suit me very well, and it’s fantastic for thrusting.

Tantus G-Spot Silicone Dildo DimensionsAnother thing I like is the fairly prominent ridge or groove on the bottom half of the shaft. That’s about as far as I like to have this dildo inserted, and I can feel that ridge right around my vaginal opening as I thrust.

Also, since the silicone is nice and bendy, I can pull the base up against me and stimulate my vulva with the rest of the shaft. Or, I can keep the G-Spot dildo straight and use a clit vibe with it.

Tantus silicone is interesting because its surface has a silky kind of feel to it. There’s not much skin drag, yet for some reason I really go through the lube when using this dildo, regardless of the brand I’m using. Granted, it’s slightly larger than most of my insertable sex toys, and perhaps the friction from vigorous in-and-out thrusting just wipes the lube away. So far I’ve haven’t tried any textured Tantus toys, and now I really want to as I’m having a hard time imagining how ripples and nubs made from such smooth silicone feels.

Nasstoys Twilite Wand Massager Vibrator ReviewSometimes products exceed my expectations. This was definitely the case with the Twilite Wand massager I received from Nasstoys. It wasn’t something I sought out. A rep from the company offered to let me host a giveaway for one, and as a thank you they sent me my own Twilite Wand to keep.

At first glance it looked to me like just another novelty-grade vibrator. I’m not a fan of the Pepto Bismol pink hard plastic (they also come in black, for the record), but as I’ve mentioned before I don’t pay a lot of attention to what my sex toys look like while I’m using them, so that’s a petty gripe. I also thought it was an odd shape, and it takes those C batteries, which I rarely have on hand because most stuff takes either AA or AAA batteries. But it’s waterproof, and not many wand massagers are.

I’m not one to let a new sex toy go unused for long. Curiosity always wins, and I want to know what it feels like–just in case it’s better than anything else I’ve ever used, because every once in a while that does happen. Granted, I didn’t have very high expectations to begin with, but I was pleasantly surprised with the Twilite Wand, even though it only has 3 settings: 2 speeds of constant vibration that are powerful and of a deep, rumbly quality, and a pulse pattern that I can take or leave.

For a while this vibe lived in my bathroom cabinet because I often used it in the shower. But then it got moved during a massive cleaning-and-throwing-out-session. I knew that I wanted to keep it, and since it’s made from hard plastic, it would be nearly impossible to tear up for a What’s Inside Wednesday post, so I stashed it in my sex toy drawer. There it managed to migrate to the very back of the drawer, out of sight and mind for many months, forgotten.

A couple of weeks ago, I was rummaging through the drawer looking for something else entirely, and my Twilite Wand rolled into view, so I ended up using that instead. A change is as good as a rest, you know, and I needed something for a Follow-Up Friday post this month. So, without further preamble, here are my thoughts on Nasstoy’s Twilite Wand Massager.

  • While the Twilite Wand is not the most discreetly sized vibe, it’s smaller and more convenient than the Hitachi Magic Wand, and the Hustler Mini Mistress. Especially since there’s no cord and it’s waterproof.
  • There aren’t any attachments available for this wand, and with its wide rounded head, I’m not sure the design will even allow for them. That’s a downside for those who need internal stimulation.
  • The Twilite Wand’s motor does make some noise, but it’s nothing compared to the loud Hitachi racket.
  • The single button control is squishy and a bit clicky, but it’s super easy to find and press.
  • The shape and design doesn’t scream “I AM A SEX TOY!” or anything, but I think nowadays most folks know what a “massager” is and what many women do with them.
  • I still don’t understand why it has to be spelled this way. Neither does my spell check.
  • While the vibrations aren’t as strong as the Hitachi on high, they’re more rumbly and I think certainly enough to do the job for most people.

So, the bottom line is that I’m glad I have this vibe in my arsenal. I’m not sure I’d go out of my way to acquire another Twilite Wand when/if this one breaks, but for what it is, it does the job well and is very affordable.

Small egg vibrator in the shape of hummingbird.Babeland originally sent me this sex toy to review, and they called it a Blue Bird Bullet. But according to the packaging and other adult toy stores, it’s actually Sophia’s Fluttering Hummer. Personally, I prefer the name Blue Bird Bullet.

This was one of–if not the–first bullet I reviewed after I started this blog. I reviewed quite a few bullets that summer. I was trying to get my hands on as many sex toys as possible so I could post lots of reviews, and back then I recall really liking this little vibe. It’s different to the typical hard plastic bullet–I mean, it IS essentially just a hard plastic bullet, but it’s encased in a bird-shaped sleeve.

Soft squishy material like this, especially any long, thin appendages, tends to flutter when vibration travels through it. The tip of the nose/beak on this bird is capable of some intense pinpoint clitoral stimulation. The wings spread out nicely to stimulate the labia, and if all else fails, you can flip the bird over and use its back as a regular bullet. Well, one that’s covered with a squishy sleeve, that is.

As other bullets and vibrators arrived to be played with and reviewed, my Blue Bird Bullet got stashed away with a few other toys that weren’t frequent flyers. When I do a sex toy cull I have three piles: use, store, and tear up. This bullet has been in storage since the first round of What’s Inside Wednesday posts, so I knew I needed to dig it out and see if it’s worth keeping.

Turns out it’s not, so the next time I have a sex toy demolition party, this one will be first up on the chopping block. But to be useful, and fair, I should tell you why.

  • The material is a lint magnet and has a lot of skin drag. I understood the bird to be made from TPR, but on some websites it’s listed as jelly. Either way, it’s certainly not my material of choice.
  • This thing is a bastard to clean and keep clean. Everything sticks to the surface, and thanks to the wire connecting the bird with its battery pack, Blue Bird Bullet isn’t waterproof.
  • I said in my original review this vibe was powerful, and I’m sure back then I thought it was. It’s strong enough to get the job done, but I was underwhelmed when I played with it recently. Except for the tip of the beak on my clit. That’s intense. But My We-Vibe Touch can do that, as well as be waterproof, more powerful, and rechargeable.
  • I’ve become a sex toy snob. Seriously. I’m to the point where I really don’t want to have to keep buying batteries to run cheap sticky toys when I have rechargeable vibes I like much more.
  • I need the storage space back. Okay, this little bullet doesn’t take up that much room, but it’s still “adult novelty” junk, and I’d rather have, say… a We-Vibe Tango or maybe even a Fun Factory Yooo in its place.

I can’t wait to tear this one up.

Lady Calston Mini 4-Play Rabbit Vibrator Sex ToyI unearthed my Lady Calston Mini 4-Play when I did that sex toy cull earlier this year. I remember winning this compact rabbit vibe in a giveaway, and being the fan of dual stimulators that I am, I really liked it. I hated that it took size N batteries, but for what it is, it does a good job, and thanks to the interchangeable clit stimulator tips, there’s a little variety.

But once I got my Fun Factory Bimini Flash, which is a very similar and far superior vibe, I didn’t use my Lady Calston anymore. Bimini Flash is rechargeable, so no hunting down N size batteries. Bimini Flash is also a compact rabbit-style vibe and waterproof, plus it’s made from silicone. Mini 4-Play is rubber or TPR or something that’s technically phthalate free but has mega skin drag and feels cheap. With no real reason to keep it, I decided to see what’s inside my Mini 4-Play.

The sheath covering the shaft slipped off easily enough, and it brought the wee bullet inside the bunny arm with it. My pliers weren’t long enough to reach down into the plastic handle, so I had to tear it up a bit first. There was a metal piece that was easy to remove, and then a screw that turned the control dial, but once I got it unscrewed the bottom of the handle popped off revealing a spring and wire.

Getting to the shaft motor wasn’t that hard, but it took me a few minutes to tear off the lid. Inside, the motor was wrapped in some kind of thin foam, and the wire was held in place by clear tape, of all things. Once I got the shaft motor unwrapped, I could really smell machine oil, so at least its gears were well lubricated. I had to snap off the wee nubby tip at the end of rotating stick/arm to remove a plastic cap covering the gears.

Lady Calston Mini 4-Play Rabbit Vibrator Sex ToyI tried getting the wee bullet motor out, but it was wedged too tightly in the casing. I gave up after breaking one of the small screwdrivers I was using in my attempt to pry it out. I couldn’t bear to part with the clit tips, though. They’re just too cute, especially the little bunny, so they’re now my pen/pencil toppers.

The Lady Calston Mini 4-Play is one of the cheapest rabbit-style vibes you can find, with amazon.com currently selling it for $17.22. It’s not made from the nicest material, and you’ll soon spend more than the purchase price buying those freaking N size batteries,  but I had some good times (and orgasms) with it.

I posted more pictures on Photobucket, and the video below documents the dismantling.

Lust: Erotic Fantasies For Women Book Erotica AnthologyI love to read, and sometimes I need material that’s a little more explicit and titillating than my usual literary fiction. I think erotica is often best enjoyed in short story format, which is why I requested a copy of Lust: Erotic Fantasies for Women from GoodVibes.com to review. Edited by Violet Blue and published by Cleis Press, the stories in this paperback showcase various sexy scenarios all keeping with the lust theme.

Lust contains an introduction by the editor, 17 erotic short stories, as well as “About the Authors” and “About the Editor” sections. All of the stories are well written and have convincing characters, with a variety of personalities and perspectives. Many of the stories focus on heterosexual couples, and there are some featuring lesbian, bisexual, and group sex. If you’re looking for anything more extreme than some spanking and BDSM then most of the stories might be too tame for you, but the sex is consistently hot throughout.

Lust: Erotic Fantasies For Women Book Erotica AnthologyRather than summarize each story, I’d rather highlight my favorites.

“Golden Hand” is the first story in the book, and it’s about an anonymous encounter between a horny female pickpocket and her target. When she slips her hand down his pocket to grab what she thought was a wallet, they both get a thrill on the subway ride. I loved this one because it’s a scenario I never would have considered, and the author does a great job of giving us a glimpse into each character’s mind.

Following that is “Ripe Fruit” about some juicy summer fun between a college student and the hot actor who visits the produce stand she’s running. It took me a few pages to get into this one because it involves overripe fruit, and I don’t think sticky sweet goo is all that sexy. But, the characters have such chemistry, and I could appreciate the whole literary symbolism of ripe fruit and sex. It is a fantasy, after all, and once I realized that worrying about the possibility of her getting a raging yeast infection was pointless, I was able to really enjoy the story.

“Coffee Shop Boy” is another favorite, about two coffee shop regulars, and it appeals to my romantic side. Thanks to the author writing from both perspectives, we know what the characters think and their desire for each other, which helps to build up the anticipation and sexual tension. This one ends just a touch on the sappy side, which isn’t what I was expecting, but the sex in it is still dang hot.

I loved “Moving” because the characters were so real, and there’s a lot going on in such a brief story. I also love it because not just twenty-somethings have hot sex, and as this one proves, erotic stories don’t have to be about young people. It focused on a mature man and woman in the process of moving, both literally and figuratively, and desire brings them together. It’s also a moving story (sorry, but it is, and I couldn’t resist).

Of course “Satisfaction Guaranteed” would make my list of favorites because it takes place in a sex toy shop! A shy customer gets some hands-on help from a forward salesman. I found his sex toy knowledge and ability very sexy, and I’m all for women exploring their sexuality in as many ways as they wish. This story reminded me of that hot scene in One Size Fits All when the shop assistant goes above and beyond the call of duty when he “helps” a customer in the dressing room.

You can get Lust: Erotic Fantasies for Women from GoodVibes.com. They have a great selection of books and DVDs, both educational titles and erotica, as well as stream-to-own, download, and pay-by-minute options for adult movies and video.

Babeland.com Gift Card Sex Toys Adult StoreToday is the 2nd anniversary of this blog. I’m not going to ramble on and on about how much I’ve learned since I started reviewing sex toys, except to say that I still have a lot more to learn, but I usually find that’s pretty much true about everything in life.

To celebrate this milestone, I’m hosting a giveaway, and Babeland has generously offered a $25 eGift Card as a prize. In case you haven’t been to Babeland.com lately, they recently launched a redesigned website that’s easy to navigate with quick view and search options to help you find the sex toys and adult products you’re looking for.

Nearly two years ago I started this blog. I didn’t have a vision for it or anything. I just really like sex toys, and this seemed like a fun way to talk about them. Since then, I’ve learned a lot while watching sex toys move into the mainstream and become more generally accepted.

Still, not everybody has a helpful adult shop nearby, so online shopping is often the best option. EdenFantasys carries a huge variety of adult products, and they’re always adding new stuff. In addition to an impressive selection of lube, vibrators, dildos, and bondage gear, you can find anything that helps you feel sexy. Recently I’ve seen quite a lot of new lingerie added, and they now sell some seriously awesome bath and body care products. I appreciate the detailed information posted on every product page, as well as links to reviews of the products. This is incredibly helpful when shopping online, as the more you can find out about a product, the better. Some items might even have video reviews so you can hear the vibration patterns or see how squishy the material is.

I get sex toys from EdenFanatsys by either accepting a product as a review assignment, or by saving up my gift cards and EdenPoints until I have enough to get what I want. This allows me to try a lot of different products, which in turn results in more reviews posted here. And more orgasms.
