On Natural Arousal Oil For Her uses a proprietary blend of essential oils and botanicals to create a safe, natural arousal effect unlike any other. There’s one type of product I don’t typically review, and that’s arousal enhancement gels, ointments, creams, and other concoctions. These sort of things generally don’t appeal to me. Usually they contain glycerin, which I try to steer clear of, and some other ingredient(s) that are basically irritants.

They work by stimulating blood flow, thereby engorging whatever area you apply them to. I don’t like the idea or putting irritants on my genitals. Also, often products like this are garishly packaged, and that puts me off.

On some level I almost resent how arousal products are marketed. The assumption seems to be that women are so frigid that they have to rub chemicals on their clit to get aroused. Um, no. Maybe they just need more and/or better foreplay, because simply rubbing the clitoris will usually get its attention, without any kind of arousal product. Honestly, I see these things more as novelties: something new to try if you want to add some fun and variety to sex, but otherwise superfluous.

But then I caught a glimpse of On 4 Her, which is an arousal oil for women. I first saw it when I made a pilgrimage to the closest quality adult store to me. Sitting on the counter by the cash register, in a classy little point-of-sale display, was a collection of tiny black boxes, all with shiny silver lettering and the word “on” printed on the front. Curious, I picked one up and read the fine print (because that’s all that will fit on a box this small).

And that’s when I began to rethink my preconceived notions about arousal enhancement products. Obviously not all come in tacky packaging, and how would I know they’re just a marketing scam to trick women into touching themselves when I’ve never actually used any of them? As a sex toy reviewer, I should have more of an open mind about these things.

I was intrigued enough by those little black boxes to briefly consider buying a bottle on On 4 Her. But then I remembered that I really don’t like to pay for things and avoid having to do so whenever possible. Instead, I added it to my running list of items I want to try, so that if/when I see them offered for review I can request them. Lucky for me, I didn’t have to wait long because EdenFantasys.com recently sent me some. The tiny .17 oz bottle is discreet, travel-friendly, and contains up to 50 applications.

On 4 Her is a natural and menthol free arousal oil made from Sweet Almond Oil, Cinnamon Cassia, Natural Tocopherols (that’s Vitamin E), silica (often used in cosmetics to increase viscosity),  Phenoxyethanol (a preservative), Ethylhexyglecerin (preservative and skin conditioning agent–often used instead of parabens), and Rosemary oil extract. You can really smell the rosemary, which I think is awesome. I love the smell of rosemary–in the morning or any time.

Inside the box is very detailed product information and use instructions printed on a slip of paper. I almost didn’t see it, due to the way it was folded and tucked into a corner of the box. Click the pictures below for a bigger view.

This stuff is super easy to use. Just apply one or two drops to your clitoris, and within a couple of minutes you should feel a warm, tingling sensation. My sex drive fluctuates depending on where I am in my monthly cycle, so in order to really test the effectiveness of this arousal oil, I used it over the course of several weeks to see how my body responded. Here’s what I found out:

  • Leading up to and during ovulation, On 4 Her was extremely effective, but then that’s when my libido is as its highest anyway, so really no surprise there. During those days of high horniness, all I needed was just a drop applied in the near vicinity of my clitoris, and in 90 seconds I was ready to go. I didn’t even need to rub it in.
  • Post ovulation, when my sex drive was subsiding somewhat, I did need to rub the oil on my clitoris for a few seconds, and usually I would apply two drops. It was still effective but wasn’t so much of an “instant on”for me during those days.
  • A few times I was just not in the mood due to stress, fatigue, or whatever else I had going on in my life that was hindering my ability to get turned on. On 4 Her still produced a warm, tingly sensation on my clit, which helped get me more in the mood, but I also required quite a bit of foreplay.
  • My only negative experience with this product was when I applied it soon after shaving. Bad idea! The warm tingling turned into painful burning. On 4 Her is oil based, so even after washing it off I could still feel residual burning. Lesson learned there.

As with any personal care product, experience and effectiveness and will vary by individual because we all have different body chemistry. While I’m glad I got to try it, I don’t think On 4 Her is something I’ll use all the time or with any great regularity. Rather, I see this as a helpful product to use during times when I feel my libido flagging or as a great tool for making the most out of quickies.

LELO Siri Luxury Vibrator ReviewI used to have a Lelo Iris, which I enjoyed immensely. It was my first luxury sex toy, and I was sad when it quit working. But thanks to Lelo’s 10 year product guarantee I was able to return it and purchase a Siri for half price.

I chose the Siri because it’s a vibe I’ve been pining for wanted to try for a long time, and I was really curious to know how it compared to my other favorite clit vibes, Fun Factory’s LayaSpot and Je Joue’s MiMi.

I already posted photos of the outer packaging on Tumblr, so you can check them out there or in the video below. Basically, Siri comes in a very discreet black gift box encased in glossy red paperboard. Inside, the Siri is sealed in a blister pack.

To open it, cut or tear off the top along the perforation. Which isn’t what I did. I tried to gently pry it apart. I don’t know why.

Anyway, underneath is where you’ll find all the accessories. There’s a user’s manual (instructions printed in multiple languages), product warranty information, charger cable, and a satiny storage pouch. While it’s charging, the button controls will flash on and off. When the battery is fully charged, the buttons stay lit. It only takes a few hours to fully charge, and it lasts a long time between charges.

LELO Siri Vibrator and Swag LELO Siri Rechargeable Vibrator

Siri has a tapered tip covered in awesome velvety silicone, and it carries the powerful, rumbly vibrations from the motor very well. Siri is also a great size, because it’s small enough to fit nicely in my hand and not get in the way of other activities. The shape is a little different in that there’s a contoured bulge on the underside, and it works quite well for me.

LELO Siri Measurements LELO Siri Measurements

The control buttons are a squishy, clicky material, and because they have a different feel than the surrounding hard plastic they’re fairly easy to find and operate even with slippery fingers. The only trouble I have is thinking that my finger is on a button that it’s not actually pressing, which then causes the vibe to do something other than what I really want, but I’m sure with more use that will happen less. I do worry about lube and residue getting trapped in the spaces between the buttons and hard plastic, though, especially since this vibe isn’t waterproof.

LELO Siri Control ButtonsPress and hold the + button to turn the vibe on and increase the speed/vibration intensity. The – button slows the motor down and turns it off, and the up and down arrows navigate through the various settings.

There’s constant vibration, a busy signal pulse, a faster pulse, a revving/rollercoaster mode, a slightly different, shorter rev, and a setting whose pattern I can’t really define, but they’re all fun to play with, and you can change the vibration intensity on all of them. Considering how powerful and rumbly the vibrations are, Siri is deceptively quiet.

Here’s a quick rundown comparison of Siri, MiMi, and LayaSpot:

  • Both the Siri and Layaspot are ergonomically shaped with a contoured bulge on their undersides. I prefer Siri’s shape over LayaSpot’s. It’s more subtle and fits up against me better. The MiMi is smooth and symmetrical, with a flatter design that tapers more towards the tip, which is better for pinpoint stimulation, but it doesn’t nestle in between my labia the same way.
  • Siri (partially) and MiMi (entirely) are covered in soft, velvety silicone, and I personally think that feels better than the Layaspot’s smooth elastomer.
  • The controls are distinctly different on all three, and I prefer the two-button simplicity of the LayaSpot over the small (and tricky to operate with lubed up fingers ) buttons on MiMi. I like that Siri can be turned off quickly, but I often get confused which button is which and end up telling it to do something other than what I need. Also, as I mentioned before, the small gaps around the buttons worry me.
  • Siri and MiMi are more powerful and rumbly than the LayaSpot, and they have the added advantage of being rechargeable.
  • Siri has more vibration possibilities than the other two because the speed can be adjusted at each setting, but it’s not waterproof! Technically, neither is the LayaSpot, but at least it’s splashproof and therefore easy to clean.
  • I’m not one to do a lot of traveling, but the controls on Siri can be locked so the buttons don’t get bumped and accidentally turn the vibe on while it’s packed away. Also, Siri comes with a storage pouch, which is nice, but the opening isn’t big enough to allow the charger cable to fit inside. I don’t know why they wouldn’t make it so that you can store everything together in the same pouch.
  • Layaspot is the most economically priced at around $60, but it then requires ongoing battery purchases to power it. Considering Siri costs around $100, it really should be waterproof. I think MiMi is the best value for money, and you can typically find them for under $80.

If only I could amalgamate all three into the ideal clit vibe. I’d have Siri’s shape, power, vibrations, and lack of noise, Layaspot’s buttons–with the addition of an instant off option, and MiMi’s magnetic charger, waterproofness, and all-over velvety silicone. Somebody is working on that for me, right?

Silicone Hitachi Magic Wand attachmentThere are many attachments available for the Hitachi Magic Wand, but I’ve only ever tried the Gee Whiz by Vixen Creations. Made from seamless silicone that has a lovely blue marble swirl pattern, it consists of a modestly sized, flexible shaft on a cap that fits snugly over the Hitachi Magic Wand head.

The Gee Whiz comes packaged in a clear plastic tube that works great for storage. Care and cleaning instructions are printed on the side, and both caps come off the ends of the tube.

I bought my Gee Whiz years ago, not long after I got my Hitachi Magic Wand, but back then I didn’t like it. As effective as the Hitachi is for giving me a clitoral orgasm, I was convinced this attachment would magically locate my G-spot and induce mind-blowing orgasms complete with squirting.

Silicone Hitachi Magic Wand attachmentNever mind that at the time I’d never even tried internal vibrations, so I had no clue if I even liked them or not. Nor had I yet managed to locate my G-spot using fingers or anything else. Still pretty much a sex toy novice, I wasn’t quite ready for the Gee Whiz. The Hitachi’s strong vibrations were just too much for me to take internally. So it got pushed into the back corner of my sex toy drawer.

Gee Whiz hung out unused for years. I forgot all about the poor neglected thing. Not too terribly long ago, I was sorting through my sex toy collection and happened upon my Gee Whiz. There’s no motor to dissect, and since it’s made from high quality silicone, I decided to keep it, resolving to use it again and see if I could like it more. No point in having it just take up space.

Silicone Hitachi Magic Wand attachmentSo, I dusted it off and gave it another try, and I was very pleasantly surprised. I’m a huge fan of dual stimulation vibes, and the cap on the Gee Whiz has a little nub and ridge that’s great for pressing/grinding against, allowing the user to feel the vibrations from the Hitachi head externally while the shaft carries the strong vibrations internally.

I don’t think I would like this nearly as much if it wasn’t made from a soft, flexible silicone, though. I believe a firmer material would make the vibrations too much, but this silicone carries the vibrations well while also softening them just enough. Oh, and it’s great for thrusting.

Silicone Hitachi Magic Wand attachmentSince I started reviewing sex toys, I’ve learned a lot about my body, which has led me to explore new forms of stimulation. I’ve also realized that some sex toys have more of a learning curve to them, but the time and patience invested in figuring them out is usually well rewarded. That’s definitely the case for me with the Gee Whiz. I love this thing now. It takes a powerhouse and turns it into a strong dual stimulation sex toy. It’s just too bad that because it’s used with the Hitachi, it also suffers from the same drawbacks, such as the loud noise and limiting power cord.

Bnaughty unleashed is designed to pander to your deepest whim with its oblong shape massager, its silky touch, electric vibrations and 7 function corldess remote.Bullets are seriously fun sex toys to play with, especially when they’re cordless like the Bnaughty Unleashed. EdenFantasys.com sent me one to try, and in addition to multiple speeds and vibration patterns, it also features a velvety soft surface and ultra cool controller.

The Bnaughty Unleashed from BSwish comes packaged in a box with pictures and product information printed on the outside.

Inside the box is a plastic tray with the bullet, remote control, batteries, storage bag, and user’s instructions.

The remote takes a 27A battery, and the bullet needs 2 size N batteries. I hate that this sex toy is powered by odd size batteries, but at least they’re included. I did have some trouble figuring out how to open the bullet to install the batteries. I thought the two halves slid apart, but actually the top slides forward just a little and then lifts off.

Both the remote and bullet are a handy size, and the controller is actually pretty discreet as it can easily pass for an MP3 player or similar gadget on first glance. They’re both made from plastic that has a soft, PU coated finish to the surface. The bullet is shaped more like an elongated egg and is slightly larger than the classic silver bullets. There is a seam going all around the bullet where the two halves fit together, but it’s not all that noticeable while in use, and I didn’t find it bothersome.

This bullet vibe can be used externally anywhere, so it’s great for foreplay and clitoral stimulation, but it can also be inserted for some internal vaginal stimulation. Just please remember that the lack of a flared base makes it unsafe for anal play. The bullet’s retrieval cord is flexible if you bend it, but it has enough stiffness to it that it doesn’t flop or flap around. I found that sometimes the cord would sit in an awkward place, depending on how it rested against me. Not that it was necessarily uncomfortable, but I could tell it was there.

Bnaughty Unleashed has 7 different functions to play with. There are 3 speeds of constant vibration, a short escalating pulse, a pulse that sounds a bit like a busy signal only faster, a rapid short, sharp pulse, and a pattern of 2 medium pulses followed by a longer pulse.

The remote has 2 buttons: a power button to turn the motor on and off, and a function button to cycle through the settings. I really appreciate a separate power button because it means you can instantly turn the motor off. This isn’t one of those vibes that remembers which setting it was on, so you’ll have to cycle back to your desired mode when you power it back up again, but that’s not a big deal. Also, there’s a digital display screen on the controller, which is pretty cool because it changes depending on which setting you’re on.

As for the vibrations, they’re more rumbly than buzzy, which is what I prefer, but but in my opinion the motor could definitely use more oomph. It’s only just powerful enough to get the job done for me, and I was also disappointed in how noisy it is. When worn under clothing the sound is muffled, but at the higher speeds it’s clearly audible, so this isn’t something I’ll be slipping in my panties for some covert fun away from the house.

Now for the really bad news: Bnaughty Unleashed is a battery drainer. I played with this toy once, recorded the video, and then the next time I used it the motor started randomly cutting off, so I replaced the N batteries in the bullet. By the way, I put brand-name batteries in there this time, and I noticed a slight increase in power.

However, very soon after that the controller battery died, and finding a size 27A battery was quite a challenge, to say the least. None of the supermarkets or drugstores in my area sell them, nor does my local Target. I finally ended driving to a specialty electronics store, which was out of the way and frankly, I’m not so sure the Bnaughty Unleashed is worth all that hassle. There are other bullets out there that are more powerfulmake less noise, and take regular batteries (or even better, are rechargeable).

fun factory smartballs teneo uno sex toyWe should all know by now the importance of maintaining a strong and healthy pelvic floor. With so many different vaginal balls, barbells, and other Kegel exercise products available to make it fun and stimulating, there’s really no excuse to not work those PC muscles.

Still, this is one area where I’m guilty of the occasional lapse, so when GoodVibes.com offered Fun Factory Smartballs Teneo for review, I readily requested it.

Available as either a single ball, the Teneo Uno, or two balls connected, the Teneo Duo, these are slightly different in design than the original Smartballs, but they still come packaged in the typical Fun Factory way.

The box has a clear window on the front so you can see the product, and then the back of the box has flaps that open up to reveal another clear plastic window. The insides of the flaps are printed with basic information and a product map. Inside is the Teneo Uno encased in a clear plastic clamshell, a sample of lube, a small Fun Factory product catalog, and user’s instructions (printed in several different languages).

Smartballs Teneo are similar to the original Smartballs in that they’re hollow with a smaller weighted ball inside that rattles around, creating subtle vibration and internal stimulation. The idea is that the PC muscles will naturally contract to keep the balls in place, so that just wearing them will help strengthen your pelvic floor, but their weight also adds some resistance, giving the user something to squeeze against.

An improvement over the original, Smartballs Teneo feature a indentation on the bottom for easy insertion. It’s a perfect fingertip-sized groove, and it makes positioning a cinch. There’s also a silicone retrieval cord attached to the bottom for hassle-free removal.

I still have my set of original Smartballs–believe it or not, they were one of the first sex toys I ever tried, and I think I may have even bought them the same time as my Hitachi Magic Wand. I noticed a distinct difference in my body after having kids, and I knew it was time to do something about it.

Smartballs sounded like just what I needed to get my body, health, and sex life back on track, so I ordered a set. But then they arrived, and I had a really difficult time just keeping them in. I was fine as long as I was sitting or reclined, but as soon as I stood up, they slipped right out. That frustrated me, so I tended not to use them much or for very long.

I’ve since tried a variety of other Kegel exercise toys, and as my pelvic floor strength improved, I found working with my original Smartballs easier. However, at some point I realized that they were great to use in conjunction with a clit vibe during solo play sessions, as they give me a nice sense of fullness, and the vibrator causes the internal Smartballs beads to move, which adds to the sensation.

As for working PC muscles, though, I have to say that I prefer the Teneo Uno. It’s lighter, and as a single ball easier for me to use. There’s a bit more texture to the Teneo than the original Smartballs design, which I think gives a more “grippy” feel. As far as getting any real G-spot stimulation, I personally prefer the more hourglass-shaped Kegel exercisers for that. These round balls don’t seem to settle in quite the right spot for me.

Basically, the Smartballs Teneo Uno is ideal for those new to Kegel exercise toys or those who prefer a shorter design. They’re very quiet, and the vibrations created by the internal ball are subtle. So much so that in order to really feel it I have to think about feeling it, if that makes any sense.

Going up and down stairs, jogging, or otherwise jumping about does make it more noticeable, so any vigorous activity is well rewarded. I’m not crazy about the retrieval cord, though. It’s a bit stiff, and tends to not feel very pleasant as it rests against me.

A big thank you to Good Vibes for sending me this product to review!

Recently I received an email from BMS Factory announcing a new line of luxury sex toys soon to be released. For anyone who doesn’t already know, BMS Factory designed the Jopen Vanity vibes. Cal Exotics has the right to sell those sex toys in the US and Canada, but in other parts of the world they’re sold under the brand name Swan. And they’re pink.

BMS Factory has developed a new product line called leaf. There’s a special page set up at www.swanvibes.com/LEAF that shows a preview of the Leaf in a block of ice that is gradually melting.

As the ice melts away, more of the vibe will be visible, leading up to the full reveal, including more product details, happening on Friday July 1. Just in time for ANME.

Pipedream Icicles glass sex toy dildoNot too long ago, I was the lucky winner of a $25 gift certificate from a leading home party romance company. At first I planned on passing it along to a friend, thinking that I have enough stuff as it is, and none of the products I’d seen from this company impressed me that much. They private labeled everything, which annoys me, and they didn’t offer a single water-based lube option that was glycerin free. But I knew they sold sex toys, so I took a look around the company website and discovered a Pipedream Icicles No. 12 on clearance for $29. So I ordered it.

Pipedream Icicles glass sex toy dildoPipedream Icicles glass sex toy dildoI must admit, I was rather bummed when it arrived packaged in nothing but sealed bubble wrap, though. I was expecting the real Icicles boxes. But, it survived being shipped that way unscathed, and I suppose that’s what really matters. After all, packaging doesn’t affect performance, right? Still, a bit better presentation would be in order here. Especially since this company would appear to put a great deal of effort into the packaging of their “lotions, potions, and…” other stuff. They’re all about cutesy round bubble bottles, glittery tubes, and pretty boxes when it comes to those products.

Nevertheless, I’m so glad I got it. As a fan of glass sex toys, this one especially appealed to me because I couldn’t imagine how a glass rosebud would feel, so this was an acquisition out of curiosity more than anything else.

Pipedream Icicles glass sex toy dildo

Not only is the Icicles No. 12 different to anything else I’ve used, it’s also beautiful and discreet enough to sit out on top of my bookcase, which happens to be where it lives. Plus, it enjoys all the benefits of this material: body safe, nonporous, hygienic, easy to clean, compatible with any lube, awesome for temperature play, the list goes on.

So, why do I like this glass rosebud so much? Well, the bottom line is that it feels really good. On the very top of the rose is a petal texture that doesn’t seem to do much when it’s inserted, but it’s great for some external stimulation to get things started. I thought this toy would be tricky to insert, but I was pleasantly surprised to find that it really isn’t. I just have to take my time and make sure I’m warmed up first and approach from a certain angle. I don’t have to insert it very far, so the handle is plenty long enough, and once it’s inside me, I enjoy gently twisting it back and forth.

Clear pyrex glass contoured dildo with pink flowerThe shaft isn’t curved, but I can still put a little upward pressure on my g-spot, and thanks to the bulbous tip, Icicles No. 12 gives me a wonderful sensation of fullness. This one is also good for some gentle, slow-and-shallow thrusting, without fully removing the rosebud.

I think sex toys made from hard materials like glass and metal are more suitable for longer play sessions because I need more of a preamble to make sure I’m really aroused when using them. As such, I tend to experience deeper, more satisfying orgasms. If I’m in a hurry or just need to relieve some stress right away, I have an assortment of powerful vibes that can get me off in mere minutes, but I often find myself going back for more half an hour later. The best of both worlds is when I use my Icicles No. 12 in conjunction with a reliable clit vibe.

Rechargeable silicone dual action vibrating stimulator with powerful independent dual motors, one in the stimulator and one in the tip.For anyone who doesn’t already know, I love sex toys that give me dual stimulation, so I’m a big fan of rabbit-style vibrators. I seem to prefer those with a rotating shaft as opposed to vibrating, and having a strong clitoral stimulator is a must.

It doesn’t have to be rabbit shaped, but I like there to be flappy bits (long bunny ears, butterfly antennae, squishy spikes, etc.) that jiggle against my clitoris, and a bulbous nose or head is always nice for hitting the U-spot.*

There’s a new collection of luxury sex toys on the market now called Jopen Vanity. I’ve already reviewed the Vr6, which is very well designed and has plenty of power behind the rumbly vibrations its motors produce, but the dimensions just aren’t quite right to fit my anatomy. I’m happy to say that the Vr10 suits me much better. The packaging is the same, except the box is longer to accommodate the larger size of this vibe.

The outer box is just plain white cardboard with the company logo on the front and a picture of the Vr10 and product information on the back. Inside is a promo leaflet resting on top of the vibe, which is sitting on its charging base, and both are held in place (sort of) by a paper insert. Underneath is the charger cable, instruction booklet, and storage bag.

While I love that the packaging is minimal and recyclable, I think it should have better presentation considering this is a luxury sex toy. But ultimately, the box doesn’t affect the vibe’s performance, and at least there’s a generously sized storage pouch included.

The Vr10′s shaft has a slight curve to it, as well as a bulge in the middle with some raised ridges. The curve may look subtle–in fact, I didn’t think it would make that much of a difference–but most of my other rabbit vibes have straight shafts, and I like the feel of this one better.

The bunny’s ears are soft and long enough to flap around, and the tapered nose is great for pinpoint stimulation. There is some adjustability as the rabbit can be pushed back a bit, opening up the angle between shaft and clitoral stimulator.

Like a lot of rabbit-style vibes, the shaft on this one rotates. Not a huge amount, and there aren’t beads moving around, but the motor driving the rotation is powerful. So, while there may not seem to be much movement or range of motion as the shaft is twirling, it’s strong enough to be felt when inserted, AND (this is the most important thing!) no power is compromised when both motors are running. Even when the bunny is at top speed, the shaft doesn’t slow down or lose oomph.

There are two buttons: the top one controls the shaft motor, and the bottom one operates the bunny. Honestly, I found the controls a little counter-intuitive. Pushing either button turns the respective motor on, and to up the speed you press and hold. Just hitting the button once turns off the motor completely.

I love that there are only two buttons, but there’s no way to decrease speed without turning the motor completely off and starting back at the beginning (slowest speed). I’m more used to sliding controls, where you can easily turn the intensity/speed up or down. With this vibe, I often push a button to up the speed and instead end up switching off the motor, which can be frustrating.

The charger cable plugs into a hole on the back of the charging base, and the lights on either side of the control buttons will flash while the battery is charging. Once it’s fully charged up, the lights stop flashing and just stay lit. I rather like the charging base because it allows the Vr10 to stand up on its own, and it avoids having a plug hole on the actual vibe itself where water can seep in.

The shaft motor is strong, but it doesn’t have much range of rotation compared to the other rabbits I have. It seems like it’s barely even moving in a circle when you watch it, so I was honestly prepared to be disappointed because I didn’t think the shaft rotated in a large enough circle to even feel, much less properly stimulate, but I was pleasantly surprised.

Maybe the ridges, center bulge, and curved tip make up for less range of motion, but I also think it’s because the motor is powerful enough to keep the shaft from slowing down once inserted. With all that said, I think a larger rotation would be an improvement.

***Actually, I TOTALLY retract my statement about the shaft not rotating very much, as that’s fixable! Please check out my Jopen Vanity Vr 10 Update for more details.***

The silicone is smooth apart from the few shaft ridges, and it feels nice and slick with just a small amount of water-based lube, but it does attract lint. Also, there is a visible seam running down the front and back. It’s actually one of the first things I noticed when I took it out of the box. I know these things have to be assembled somehow, but I have other luxury vibes that don’t have seams, or at least if they do then they’re not as obvious. Luckily, I can’t feel the seam when I’m using the vibe.

Bottom line: The size and shape of Vr10 suits me very well. It’s an awesome and highly effective rabbit-style vibe that delivers kick-ass orgasms, but I think for the price there should have been a little more attention to detail. I’m just not sure it’s worth the $200+ when compared to other luxury sex toys.

* “The U-Spot. This is a small patch of sensitive erectile tissue located just above and on either side of the urethral opening. It is absent just below the urethra, in the small area between the urethra and the vagina. Less well known than the clitoris, its erotic potential was only recently investigated by American clinical research workers. They found that if this region was gently caressed, with the finger, the tongue, or the tip of the penis, there was an unexpectedly powerful erotic response.” (The Naked Woman by Desmond Morris, page 210)

Plastic and silicone rechargeable vibratorLet me fill you guys in on what happened with my Lelo Iris. I guess I should explain that I don’t remember exactly when I last used this vibe, but I think it was late last summer. Back when my sex toy collection consisted of nothing more than an Iris, a Hitachi Magic Wand, a Pocket Rocket Jr, and a few Liberator Shapes, my Iris got more action than any of the others. Yes, even more than the Hitachi because there’s no cord to contend with, and the Iris has dual motors with a variety of patterns and pulses.

I loved the shape, design, vibration patterns, dual motors, and everything else about the Iris, except for the control. I thought it was a bit awkward at first, and it took me a while to get used to it, but over time the button sensitivity diminished. Even just trying to push it to turn on the power got difficult, as the button became really firm and hard to press. Trying to increase speed or change function also became trickier because the firmness of the button made pushing it in just the right place a nightmare. That’s too much work and frustration to deal with when I have a stash of other sex toys that maybe aren’t exactly the same, but at least have easier-to-use controls and do as their told. So, my Iris had been neglected for many months.

The other day I decided take it out, dust it off, charge up the battery, and reacquaint myself with an old friend. There’s a light around the control button that flashes while it’s charging, and it stays lit when the battery is fully charged. Only, I got impatient after an hour or so and tried to use it even though the light was still flashing. It wouldn’t turn on. Thinking I must have locked it the last time I put it away, I pressed and held the center of the button to unlock it, and still nothing happened. Assuming the battery was so drained that it would need the entire recommended 3 hours of charging time, I plugged it back in and left it. For several hours, in fact.

Well, the light never quit flashing, even after leaving it for over 6 hours. Also, I can’t get either motor to come on. I’ve tried everything I can think of, so I must conclude that the battery has gone bad and isn’t holding any kind of charge. This is a total bummer.

I haven’t decided if I want to replace my Iris or not. It’s well past the manufacturer’s warranty, and I did get a few years of rigorous use out it. Plus, Lelo has some awesome looking newer designs I’d love to try, and I’m determined to get my hands on a GiGi first. Besides, I can still use my Iris as a non-vibrating toy. The curved shape is great for g-spot stimulation, and while the tip has some give, the shaft is still pretty firm. For that reason, I’d rather not declare my Iris officially dead. It doesn’t work anymore, so I’ll just say it’s retired.

BabeLube Natural Water Based Personal Lubricant ReviewBabeland recently sent me a bottle of their BabeLube Natural to try. As I’ve mentioned before, my skin is rather sensitive, so I avoid potentially irritating products as much as possible.

This all-natural lubricant is made for Babeland by Sliquid, so it doesn’t contain any glycerin, parabens, or petroleum products. Plus, it’s vegan friendly, and as a water-based lube it’s compatible with condoms and all sex toy materials.

BabeLube Natural comes in a plastic bottle with a flip-top lid like the other Sliquid products I’ve tried, and the plain blue label is tasteful and discreet. The lube itself doesn’t have any taste, which is awesome. I can detect a slight soapy scent if I stick my nose right up to the open bottle and take a deep breath, but it’s very subtle and clean-smelling.

BabeLube Natural contains the following ingredients:

  • Purified water
  • Plant cellulose (from cotton), which is a thickening agent
  • Aloe barbadensis, aka aloe vera, which is moisturizing and soothing
  • Natural tocopherols (Vitamin E), known for being soothing and good for skin
  • Carrageen, a stabilizer and gelling agent
  • Extracts of hibiscus, flax, alfalfa, green tea, and sunflower seed, which have healing and soothing properties, as well as antioxidants
  • Potassium sorbate, a preservative
  • Citric acid (from citrus fruits), another preservative

The ingredients list is very similar to that of Sliquid Oceanics, minus the seaweed. BabeLube Natural is a thicker consistency, though. I love a good thick lube because it stays where you apply it, and I just like the cushiony feel of a nice, viscous gel.

This lube is such a thick get that I really have to squeeze the bottle to get any to come out. However, a little extra effort on the dispensing is more than compensated by the fact that BabeLube Natural won’t drip or run, even with the cap accidentally left open and the bottle laying on its side. I even held the bottle upside-down with the lid open for over a minute and nothing dripped out.

As much as I love a thick gel lube, I wish this one stayed slick longer. It works really well with sex toys that have a smooth surface, like glass and metal, and since those materials are nonporous, this lube lasts a good amount of time. But I found that when used during intercourse, it tends to suds up with just a small amount of skin-to-skin rubbing, and with more vigorous friction it soon dissipates, leaving behind a little bit of residue.

The good news is that it reactivates with a few drops of water or saliva, but that in turn thins out the consistency. So, even though it’s a touch on the thinner side, the Sliquid Oceanics worked better for me personally.
