Blue Bird Bullet vibrator ReviewBabeland sent me a Blue Bird Bullet to try. This cute multi-speed vibe is made by California Exotics from body-safe, phthalate-free TPE and takes 2 AA batteries.

The Blue Bird Bullet consists of a bullet-style vibrator encased in a soft and squishy bird. The wings and nose flutter as the bullet vibrates, and the surface is slightly textured with feather-like grooves along the wings and tail in addition to barely noticeable feathers over the body.

I don’t think the texture is prominent enough to make a real difference in stimulation, but it does help keep this toy from looking more like a dolphin than bird.

This material has quite a bit of surface drag, so have plenty of your favorite water-based lube ready. While the surface doesn’t feel particularly sticky, it does attract lint.

This sex toy is not waterproof, and the way the cord attaches into the bullet makes washing it with soap and water awkward and frustrating. Products like this are the reason I keep antibacterial toy cleaneraround.

This vibe is a bit larger than more traditional bullets. It measures 4 inches beak-to-tail with a 3 inch wingspan. The tip of the bird’s beak provides targeted, pinpoint stimulation, while its body and the top curve of its head are great for broader vibrations. But the Blue Bird Bullet’s special feature is how the fluttering wings massage the labia throughout the whole experience.

The battery pack controller connects to the bullet by a thin cord measuring 30 inches, which is just long enough. The easily accessible dial control on the side of the battery pack controls the vibration intensity. At top speed, it is a pretty powerful little bullet. Luckily, it’s not all that loud. It’s audible through bed covers, but not through a closed bedroom door.

I find wired bullets like this especially well-suited for solo play. They can certainly be incorporated into partner sex as well, but using these types of vibes requires both hands, which I personally find inconvenient. Like most bullets, this one is great for clitoral stimulation, and it has the added bonus of those labia-massaging wings.

Because of the shape, it really isn’t meant for insertion. I think a Blue Bird Bullet would be an ideal choice for those looking to move up from a more basic, single-speed vibe, as well as anyone wanting to experience a soft, squishy texture and fluttering wings.

I was pleasantly surprised by this vibrator’s power, and I really like the easy dial control. There are no set speeds; it’s a gradual increase as you turn the dial up. I used it for both solo play and during sex in a variety of positions. While its size isn’t really big enough to get in the way, several times I felt as though a slightly longer cord may have been a good idea.

At least the cord is nice and thin, so it’s not all that awkward to work around. Oh, and I discovered that the vibration didn’t travel so much to the bird’s tail, so that makes a nice little handle to hold it in place.
