What’s Inside Wednesday: Little Thumper
One of the first products I received for review from GoodVibes.com was Doc Johnson’s Little Thumper, and it was my very fist bullet vibe, believe it or not. I don’t really count my Pocket Rocket Jr as a bullet, you know. I was intrigued by the remote controller and wondered about how much the cord would get in the way, especially if I wanted to use this during intercourse, and I discovered very soon that I prefer wireless bullets.
I really focused on the positive when I reviewed Little Thumper, way back in July of 2010. I was just happy to have a free sex toy to review, and not wanting to write a bad one–as well as not having enough sex toy experience to know that there are far superior products out there–meant that I kind of glossed over some of the quality issues with it.
Needless to say, this one got culled and hacked up. The battery compartment lid snapped right off as expected, and a quick screw removal revealed the cool inner circuitry, but I had a bit more trouble getting the motor out of the pink plastic torpedo.
That part of the bullet wasn’t as cheap and flimsy as I thought. I had to basically break it and pry it open until I could snap a bit of it off. Then I kept prying along the seam. This was slow going until I got a crack big enough to let me pry it open so I could get the bullet motor out. So that’s the Little Thumper dissected. I’m curious to know if anyone else has experienced quality control issues with this bullet vibe? Maybe they just had a bad production run or something, and I got one of the lemons.
