Aries

Traditional red bulged multi-speed silicone vibrator with curled horns accents.I love Fun Factory. They’re my favorite sex toy manufacturer because I tend to have really good luck with their products, and while I consider them to be in the “luxury” category, most of their stuff is still affordable. Or at least well worth saving up for. Fun Factory also has a huge range of styles from the very realistic to a few product lines that are more playfully themed, like their Astrovibes collection. These are classic-style vibrators, each one designed to represent a different Sign of the Zodiac.

I know nothing about astrology, but I’m all up for trying anything Fun Factory, so I ordered the Astrovibe Aries from EdenFantasys.com while it was on sale. Not because that’s my personal sign or anything. I just thought the ram was the cutest of the bunch.

Unlike the red and grey boxes most of my other Fun Factory sex toys came packaged in, Aries arrived in a blue box. It still had the usual flaps and windows, though, as well as the sample of lube, user’s guide, and small product brochure. It’s nice to see that the standards are kept across product lines. I have expectations, you know.

The top of the ram’s head is flatter and straighter than the underside, which has more of a curve and bulge to it. The horns add a nice bit of texture along both sides, as well as on the top where they almost meet. I really hate that my camera and/or photography skills (or lack of) don’t show the ram’s face better, because he really is adorable, with his subtle smile and beady eyes giving him a cheeky look.

Running on 2 AA batteries, the multi-speed motor has a dial control located on the battery compartment cap. The base is nice and flat, so Aries can stand up on its own. I love it when sex toys can do this. The vibrations are less rumbly at top speed, but the soft silicone carries them well and keeps them from being too buzzy. The motor is fairly quiet at the lower vibration settings, but it starts to make more noise as you ramp up the power, escalating to a whine at the highest vibration speed. While it’s not the most powerful vibrator I’ve used, it certainly has enough oomph to get the job done for me.

The size is pretty standard for most classic-style vibes, and the smooth silicone has plenty of give. There is quite a bit of surface drag, though, so be sure to have plenty water-based lube. The shaft isn’t rigid like I thought it would be; It bends and flexes nicely. At the tip, starting about where the ram’s horns are, it’s all soft silicone so the ram’s nose is really flexible and pretty squishy.

Considering the pointy tip and straight shaft, I didn’t plan to use this vibe for much internal stimulation. I prefer curves and bulbous heads for tackling my G-spot. But when I got to playing with it, I was pleasantly surprised.  The shaft bends and gives enough to curve as needed, and the soft top doesn’t feel at all pointy when inserted. As long as I’m not on my hands and knees in “doggy style” position, that is. When I insert this toy at that angle I can really feel the ram’s nose pressing against me, and it’s not particularly pleasant. Also, Aries isn’t good for applying any kind of pressure to the G-spot, but it’s fine for thrusting, poking, and prodding when I’m supine.

I really like to use this vibe for clitoral stimulation because it gives you a lot of options. Slowly stroking my clit and labia with the underside of the ram’s head, for example, feels similar to receiving oral sex. I can nestle the vibe against me for broader stimulation, or use the ram’s nose is for intense, pinpoint stimulation. And then there are the horns if I fancy a bit of texture. Aries is a true multi-tasker.

As much as I like the texture that creates the cute ram’s head design, it’s a pain to clean. Lube and residue tends to get trapped in the grooves, so Aries requires careful cleaning, especially since it’s not waterproof.
