What’s Inside Wednesday: Le Reve Dolphin
Pipedream sent me one of their Le Reve Dolphin vibes to review last year, and while the box claims that this sex toy is waterproof, I didn’t believe it because the battery compartment just has a simple slide-off cover. There’s no O ring or any kind of barrier to keep water and moisture from seeping inside. Sure enough, after a session in the shower the controls started shorting out and it eventually quit working, so it’s definitely NOT waterproof.
Pipedream kindly sent me another one as a replacement, which is built the same way so it’s not waterproof either, regardless of what might be printed on the box. For this What’s Inside Wednesday, I’m going to show you the first Le Reve Dolphin I received. Or the inner workings of it, anyway.
With the battery compartment cover off, there were some tiny screws that had to be removed. Even then, the metal ring kept me from being able to take it apart, so I cut the TPR around the top of the metal ring, exposing the rotating stick underneath. With the outer sleeve off, I could push the metal ring up enough to expose the small screw holding it together.
Once that was taken care of, I could dissect the control pad and get to the motor. The gears that make the shaft rotate on this vibe were fixed, as opposed to the fiddly little plastic ones in the Power Bumper that scattered all over the place when I took it apart.
