Follow-Up Friday: Starlet Toyfriend
First off, let me just say that I sincerely hope I was unlucky and got a lemon. I say this because my Starlet Toyfriend no longer works. I reviewed this vibe in April, which was only 4 months ago. I expect my sex toys to last longer than that.
There might be a problem with the button. I’ve done everything else I can think of, like changing the batteries and checking the metal connection points, but still the motor won’t turn on. The button feels a little bit different now–it still clicks when I press it, but I don’t get a sense of actually hitting anything underneath it, as crazy as that may sound.
Or maybe water got into it somehow. Both my Starlet and Bunny Toyfriends live on my bathroom counter, tucked away in the back corner. I keep them there because they have those handy little stands so they take up very little counter space, and I often used them in the shower. Now I’m wondering if water got in and shorted the Starlet. If so, then that’s disappointing because this vibe is meant to be waterproof.
Either way, the vibe doesn’t work.
Starlet is still an effective toy for g-spotting, and I don’t require internal vibrations anyway, so I’ll most likely keep it around. If nothing else, it’s good for modeling little hats. The smaller Bunny Toyfriend that I received for review at the same time still works fine, but I wasn’t that impressed with it (single speed, weak vibes), so it hasn’t been used nearly as much as the Starlet.
I’m seriously bummed that my Starlet’s motor won’t come on anymore. I really liked that vibe! I’m wondering how other Toyfriends are holding up. Does anyone else have one? What are your experiences with it? What does yours like to dress up as?
