WOW! Vibrator No. 4

Last year Pipedream sent me a WOW 1 to try, and being a fan of rabbit-style vibes, I thoroughly enjoyed reviewing it. Back then, they only had 3 vibes in the WOW! line, but now there are 6 to choose from. Recently I received a WOW 4 from Pipedream, and unlike the other WOW vibes, this one isn’t a dual stimulation sex toy. It’s more like a classic-style vibrator, only its shape and design resembles an oversized finger. The material is also a little different. Rather than a soft and squishy TPE, WOW 4 is made from a firmer silicone.

All of the vibes in the WOW product line come packaged in a shiny white box with a slide-off paper sleeve that has photos of the toy and basic product information on the back. Inside the box is a molded insert covered in a white satiny fabric that holds the vibe in place. Packaging like this is great for gift giving as well as storage.

WOW 4 measures around 9 inches long, with nearly 7 inches of insertable length. At its widest, it has a girth of around 5 inches, tapering to just over 3 inches towards the tip.

To me, it really looks like an enlarged finger with the slight bend of the shaft and the bulges and grooves. There’s even a fingerprint-like pattern on the tip. I don’t really notice the texture so much when the vibe is inserted, but I can feel it when I press the tip against my clitoris. The silicone is firm, but with some give. The motor feels like it’s located in the middle section of the shaft, as there’s definitely more firmness there. Above that, it’s very flexible and bendy, so this one’s not ideal for applying g-spot pressure, but it’s great for thrusting, rocking, and just playing around with to see what feels good.

WOW 4 has 2 buttons: a power button on the front turns the motor on and off, and then a function button one the back toggles through the 10 different settings. The vibrations range from very strong to mellow and travel well through the silicone. There are 3 speeds of continuous vibration, and for some reason the faster speed comes before the medium and slow constant vibration settings. Next is an escalating pulse pattern, followed by a very short, throbbing pulse. A longer and stronger, more wavy pulse comes next, and then you get fast, sharp throb before moving on to a short revving pulse. Then there’s a busy signal pulse, and finally a very subtle, almost muted throb that I can only just barely feel at the tip.

One seriously nice thing about the WOW 4 is that the batteries are super easy to install. Unlike its cousins, which require raiding the household toolbox for pliers and a screwdriver, this one has a simple twist-off battery compartment cap and takes 2 AA batteries.

Overall, I think Pipedream did a good job with this vibe. There’s a nice range in vibration intensity and patterns, and while the shape is effective for targeting the g-spot, it works equally well when used for clitoral stimulation. My only gripe is that there’s a visible seam running down the entire length of the shaft. I know nothing about how these things are molded and assembled, so I’m assuming that some sort of a seam is inevitable, but this one is really noticeable. Luckily, I can’t really feel it, but I still wish it wasn’t there.
