Buzz on Vibes

I think the Starlet Toyfriend is an awesome vibrator, and I’m so glad that I requested one from GoodVibes.com to review. For starters, it’s covered in the same silicone that I raved about on the Bunny Toyfriend because it feels so incredibly soft and silky. Also, the motor is nice and quiet. I love that. This vibe also comes with batteries and a cool little stand. It’s waterproof, so you can use it just about anywhere, and it’s easy to clean. But most importantly, it’s a very effective stimulator that can be used in a variety of ways (just don’t use it for anal, as there’s no flared base).

Toyfriends come in simple and fun packaging. The box has a clear plastic window so you can see the Starlet inside. Both the vibe and stand are held in place by a molded plastic insert, and also inside the box is a handy little product brochure showcasing the other Toyfriends.

   

Starlet measures close to 7 inches in total length, with a shaft diameter of  around 1 1/4 inches giving it a little over 4 inches of girth. The top is curved with an interesting oval shape at the tip.

 

After my experience with the Bunny Toyfriend, I honestly didn’t have very high expectations for this vibe when I saw that it took AAA batteries. But when I turned the motor on, I was very pleasantly (and pleasurably) surprised at the strong vibrations. My enthusiasm waned somewhat when I pushed the button, expecting even more oomph at the next setting, and discovered that this is one of those sex toys whose motor starts off at the highest speed. The pulses that come after are nice and strong, though. The vibrations travel up the shaft in a way that gives them almost a throbbing kind of feel.

This shape works really well for me. The first few times I played with this vibe I didn’t even turn the motor on. That’s because I really enjoy hitting my G-spot with that oval head. The silicone has some give and bends slightly at the curve, but the shaft is hard, and the head is firm enough to put some decent pressure on my G-spot. When I did finally use it as a vibrator, I had the opposite problem. It felt so good on my clitoris that I didn’t want to take it away long enough to insert it. Luckily for me, there’s no limit to the number of times you can use a sex toy before writing a review for it, as it took me a few more goes before I finally used it internally with the motor on. I’m thrilled to report that it performed beautifully for that purpose as well.

There are many things I love about this vibe, but I’m not a fan of the button. It’s tricky to press, and sometimes if you don’t hit it right in the center, which is not always easy to do with slippery fingers, it doesn’t register. I also prefer the slower/less intense vibrations to be first in the vibration setting sequence, but that’s me being picky. The other thing is that you can really feel the vibrations all the way down the shaft, so this one will make you hand go numb after a while, but that’s just how it is with powerful vibes that are more modestly sized.
