Je Joue MiMi
Oh, my. Je Joue has done it again, folks. I am seriously impressed with their MiMi clitoral vibe. After reviewing (and loving!) the Ami Kegel exerciser set and adjustable G-Ki, I wanted a MiMi the instant I saw it online. I’m extremely fortunate that Fascinations offered me one to review, and I eagerly accepted.
Je Joue is a luxury sex toy manufacturer. The MiMi comes packaged like the Ami and G-Ki in a black flip-top box inside a dark purple outer sleeve. MiMi sits in a plastic tray on top that easily lifts out, thanks to the ribbon tab, and underneath you’ll find the instruction book and charging cable.
Discreetly sized and covered in a heavenly soft and smooth silicone, MiMi has minimal skin drag and isn’t too bad for attracting dust and lint. It’s also waterproof and easy to take care of. Just please remember to only use water based lube with this vibe.
There are two buttons, located along the wide base, and that’s where the charger magnetically connects. There is a light that flashes on and off while the battery is charging, and when fully charged the light stops blinking and stays lit. The light also comes on when the motor is running.
To operate, press and hold the + button for a few seconds, and MiMi‘s motor starts at low constant vibration. Keep pushing the + button to change speeds or settings. There are 5 speeds of continuous vibration, a busy signal type pulse pattern, a short sharp pulse, a slow revving/escalating pulse, a short escalating pulse, and a faster escalating pulse that’s almost a wavy pattern. The vibrations are strong and rumbly. I love that.
Because there’s no handle and the motor is quite powerful, I can feel the vibrations in my hand, so with extended use my hand does go a bit numb. This isn’t so much an issue if I have both hands free, as I can alternate which hand is holding the vibe. The only other challenge is that I sometimes have trouble changing the settings while in use. This was partially due to slippery fingers not being able to find and/or push the buttons, but also because I’m not the most dexterous person at the best of times, and the buttons on this vibe are really small.
I love MiMi’s shape and feel, not to mention its power. Such nice rumbly vibrations are just what I like, and the fact that this vibe is also rechargeable means that I now have a tough decision to make. You see, I love my Fun Factory LayaSpot, and it has reigned as my clitoral stimulator of choice for many months. Once I started reviewing adult products, I quickly developed a preference for rechargeable sex toys. Batteries certainly aren’t cheap, especially when you find yourself buying them in vast quantity. While I find the LayaSpot easier to hold on to because its shape gives it a bit of a handle, the MiMi is compact and more effectively stimulates my clitoris. So, I fear my LayaSpot has been usurped. I don’t like it any less, but I definitely like MiMi more.
I see that Fascinations has MiMi advertised as the “perfect first toy” on the main page of their website, but I think it’s a fantastic vibe for anyone. It’s great to use on its own, in conjunction with an insertable toy, or for added clitoral stimulation during foreplay and intercourse. The size is discreet, the design is sleek, and it has a powerful motor that is also quiet.
