Follow-Up Friday: Power Bumper

One of the first sponsored reviews I did for EdenFantasys.com last summer was Cal Exotic’s Power Bumper. I was already a fan of rabbit-style vibes, and I had never tried anything with texture, let alone that much texture, so I was pleased to get it. There were a few things about it that I didn’t particularly like, but I tried very hard to focus on the positive and downplayed the negative. If you go back and read my review, you’ll see that I rated it four stars, probably because it did give me some crazy intense orgasms.

However, now that I’ve been reviewing for a while, I’ve acquired other toys that also deliver mind-blowing orgasms that I like much better, so the Power Bumper has been retired. The last time I used it, I came to the conclusion that I don’t really like it anymore. Perhaps my stimulation preferences and/or sexual response has changed, or maybe I’m just becoming much more discerning as I try more and more sex toys. Either way, the Power Bumper lost favor for several reasons:

  • It’s really loud, especially when the rabbit is on high speed.
  • It only has one shaft rotation speed.
  • I think it’s a bit too long for me. This wasn’t an issue when I tried it for review, so I must have been at a point in my monthly cycle when my cervix was positioned higher (sorry if TMI). During subsequent uses, I found the length somewhat uncomfortable.
  • I’m growing less and less fond of TPR the more I use better materials. I hate the lint magnetism factor, and it just doesn’t feel as good to me as silicone or elastomer.
  • It’s hard to clean. Good thing it’s waterproof, but all those bumps create a surface where lube and residue can easily cling and hide.
  • I think the texture for me was enjoyable more for the novelty value, as I enjoyed it less and less the more I used this vibe.
  • This vibe really had a strong plastic/new shower curtain type smell that took several weeks to dissipate. That may not be an issue for some, but I hate chemical smells.

I think this vibe would definitely be improved with better material, less smell, more rotation speeds, and quieter motors. Still, I’m glad I got the opportunity to try it. Often it’s only through trying many things we can figure out what we really like, and just because something pleases us at the time doesn’t mean that we’ll always be keen on it.
