Groovy Chick

Last September I reviewed the Bullet Bunny by Rocks Off Ltd, a leading manufacturer of sex toys in the UK. The same company also makes a dual-stimulation vibe called the Groovy Chick that I’ve been wanting to try ever since I first saw it, so I was thrilled when the generous folks at Babeland.comoffered to send me one.

Like the Bullet Bunny, there is a removable plastic bullet that slips into a sleeve, which is U-shaped on the Groovy Chick. The insertable side is curved with a tapered head to hit the G-spot, and its straight side is meant to rest against the vulva and clitoris to provide external stimulation. Made from soft silicone, the sleeve’s surface is smooth except for some very gentle, wave-like ridges on the inside of the handle and raised curves with company logo on the outside. I personally don’t think the minimal texture adds much to the stimulation, but it looks pretty cool.

For anyone wanting specific specs, the sleeve measures about 9 inches in total length when stretched as straight as it will go. The outer curve is close to 6 inches, and the inner part of the curve measures 4 inches. The straight side is around 3 inches long, and the whole sleeve varies in girth from 3 3/4 – 4 inches. The little Ro-80 bullet powering Groovy Chick is discreetly sized at 3 inches long with only a 1/2-inch diameter.

The back of the box lists the product specs and has a diagram showing how the vibe is meant to be positioned. The N size battery is included, and the box also gives an expiration date for the battery.

Underneath the molded plastic insert keeping the vibe in place is a product catalogue with care and use instructions printed in several different languages.

The RO-80 bullet powering Groovy Chick is smaller than the Bullet Bunny‘s RO-120, and it only has one speed, but I think the vibrations travel better on this one. I guess that’s because the material is softer, or maybe it’s due to the curve on the insertable part hitting my G-spot better and providing more targeted stimulation.

Before using the Groovy Chick, there is a paper disk on top of the battery that needs to be removed. Once that’s out of the way, firmly press the button on the battery compartment cap to turn the motor on. Then simply push it again to turn it off. Pressing the button about half way will turn the motor on until you release the button again, so even though there’s just the one speed, you can simulate your own pulse pattern this way.

This vibe is totally waterproof, so cleanup is no problem with hot soapy water. Just make sure to stick to water-based lube only since the sleeve is made from silicone. While it’s a very bendy a flexible material, there is some firmness underneath the surface give. It’s also the type of silicone that attracts dust and has a fair amount of skin drag.

Groovy Chick vibrator sex toyIt’s no secret that I’m a big fan of dual-stimulation sex toys, and this one does the job quite nicely for me, but it took me a few tries to figure out how to best use it. In theory, Groovy Chick could be used hands-free; just insert it, turn it on, and enjoy the ride. However, I think in order for that to happen it has to fit your body just right. Sadly, that was not the case for me. The U-curve is too deep or something, because even though I tried several different positions, I couldn’t get the Groovy Chick to stay where I needed it to be without holding it in place.

This is a good one for thrusting, rocking, and grinding. It will also put some pressure on the G-spot thanks to the curve and tapered head, but the flexibility keeps it from providing any firm pressure there. I quite like this vibe (rarely do I meet a dual-stimulator I don’t like), but I wasn’t blown away by it like I thought I would be. While I think it’s better designed and more effective than the Bullet Bunny, it doesn’t work as well for me as other vibes I’ve tried. Still, Groovy Chick gets the job done, and I’m glad to have it in my collection.

I prefer the Amazon Adult Products Review blog to all the free ones. For a buck a month, I get 100 product reviews all the time. The blog updates no less than daily and has lots of pictures. Its not just vibrators, but all kind of adult sex toys.
