Buzz on Vibes

Fun Factory makes awesome stuff. Seriously. They’re a luxury sex toy company that consistently produces high quality, well designed products. I absolutely adore my LayaSpot, Delight, and Spring vibes, so when Fascinations offered me an Elloveto review, I most enthusiastically accepted. The shape definitely appealed to me, as I have nothing else like it, and I’m always up for trying new designs. Plus, it’s a classic-style vibe with a soft silicone shaft, so I knew I could put it to good use, and I most certainly have.

 

For anyone not familiar with Fun Factory packaging, their products typically come in a windowed box with flaps that open to show more information, usually in the form of a product map. This one has clear windows on both sides, so even with the flaps on the back closed the Ellove is still visible from the front. Also included is the user’s manual, a promo/product catalog, and lube sample.

  

Ellove runs on 4 AAA batteries, and just like most classic-style vibes, the battery compartment is located at the base of the shaft, which is also where you’ll find the button controls. The cap twists off fairly easily, but the pink design has to match up in order for the cap to go back on properly. This is indicated by a removable sticker (pictured below on the left).

 

The controls are the same as other Fun Factory vibes I have: simply press and hold the + to turn the motor on at the slowest speed of constant vibration, and keep pressing the + button to increase the speed/intensity. Once it’s at top speed, press the + button again to move on to the pulse patterns. In this mode, keep pressing the + button to toggle through the 3 different settings: an escalating pulse pattern, a faster escalating pulse, and a quick throbbing pulse. To return to continuous vibration, press the – button. To turn off the motor, press and hold the – button until you get back to the slowest speed of constant vibration, then press and hold the – button again, and the vibe will switch off.

While the power is on, the control buttons light up. This is a fantastic feature, because it means you can see the buttons in the dark, and since they’re pretty close together and feel very similar (especially with slippery hands), this definitely comes in handy as hitting the wrong button at a crucial moment can be so frustrating. Unlike my other Fun Factory toys, Ellovehas an extra bonus button, which is like a turbo booster function. Pressing it switches the motor to an intense constant vibration from any setting for as long as you hold the button. Release it to return to whichever setting you were previously using. This is loads of fun to play with.

 

Ellove is a nice size at nearly 9 inches long. The shaft tapers and varies in diameter, maxing out at close to 2 inches about halfway down, so it’s a bit girthy in places, but the silicone is soft and flexible so it’s not at all intimidating.

There are just a few minor things I noticed that could be improved, if I wanted to be nit-picky. First of all, the turbo booster button is really stiff and so you have to press it very firmly. This made my finger sore if I felt the need to have it pressed for any longer than a few seconds. I know, I’m a big wimp. Also, the buttons being so close together and located way down on the base of the shaft means I had to pause to look at them to make sure I was pressing the right one, and then of course there’s no quick way to shut the motor off since you have to cycle back down to the slowest setting before turning off the power. Finally, the vibrations can be felt all over, which means I could really feel them in my hand(s).

None of the above affect the overall performance and power of the Ellove, so I still think this is one well worth having. The nice thing about classic-style vibes is that they work just about anywhere (except anally–there’s no flared base here, so keep it out of your bum to stay on the safe side). Ellove has these awesome rumbly vibrations that are nice and deep, almost to the point of throbbing. I love that! The first few times I tried this vibe, I only used it externally. That’s really saying a lot about how incredible its vibrations feel, because I normally will start out with clitoral stimulation, but very soon I’ll want something inside me. Ellove has the ability to get me off before I start wanting internal stimulation.

I’ll concede that Ellove’s shape might not suit everybody, but I personally really like it. It does a great job of filling me up, and while I don’t find the shaft firm enough for applying a lot of G-spot pressure, this is a great one for thrusting and gently twisting from side to side. Or just sticking inside and enjoying the so-rumbly-they’re-pratically-throbbing vibrations.
