Blossom Organics Moisturizing Lube

Blossom Organics Lube Sex ToyAs I’ve said before, I’m always eager to try glycerin-free, water-based lubes, especially if they’re made from all-natural ingredients. So when I saw the Blossom Organics Natural Moisturizing Lubricant on the list of products available for review from GoodVibes.com, I eagerly requested a bottle. I’m so glad I did! This is definitely one of the best lubes I’ve tried so far.

I love that more and more quality, all-natural lubes are now available. Blossom Organics doesn’t contain anything harsh or likely to cause irritation (no parabens, glycerin, petrochemicals, silicones, alcohol, hormones, artificial dyes, flavorings, or fragrances), and it’s “Ph balanced to mimic a woman’s natural chemistry” which is handy.

So here is a list of what it does have in it, along with brief descriptions since some of these ingredients have rather lengthy names.

  • Organic aloe barbadensis leaf extract (aloe vera leaf juice which has healing and moisturizing properties)
  • Sorbitol (a humectant and thickener commonly used in cosmetics)
  • Hydroxyethylcellulose (a gelling/thickening agent derived from plants)
  • Hyaluronic acid (scary-sounding name for a natural fluid present in our bodies, used as a topical humectant in cosmetics)
  • Organic stevia rebaudiana extract (herb used as a sweetener, this explains the slightly sweet taste)
  • Tocopherol (Vitamin E, which is considered to be good for skin)
  • Sodium citrate (a preservative and antioxidant)
  • Potassium Sorbate (a preservative)
  • Organic extracts of paeonia albiflora (peony) root and passiflora incarnata flower (both are considered medicinal, plus with a name like Blossom Organics, I guess there needs to be some flowers in there somewhere)

Blossom Organics Natural Moisturizing Lubricant comes in a flip-top tube packaged in a thin cardboard box. The cap is flat, so the lube can stand up on its own, which is convenient. The lube itself is a gel consistency, but it’s a little on the thin side. As you can see, merely opening the cap and setting the tube down was enough to make some ooze out all by itself. I don’t have a problem with it dripping when using it, though.

The lube is clear, nonstaining, and rinses off easily. I can’t detect anything other than a clean, neutral scent, and while this lube really doesn’t taste like anything, there is a sweetness to it, which I find rather pleasant. This is a great choice to use when incorporating any kind of oral play. Plus, it feels so natural, almost soothing.

The best part, though? Blossom Organics lasts. With vigorous friction, it does get a but sudsy and somewhat stringy, but it still stays wet. Like most water-based lubes, you can always add a bit of water if you feel it starting to dry out or go sticky, but I haven’t had to do that.

What else can I say about it, other than I am deeply impressed. This is really a fantastic lube, and it works equally well for any type of activity, and it’s compatible with all sex toys. I’m overjoyed to have found such an excellent match for my body chemistry.

The stringiness is probably due to all the Aloe. I know aloe straight out of the leaf is runny but stringy at the same time. I didn't really bother me though. I like the lube a lot too.
