Buzz on Vibes

I have another rabbit review! This time it’s for Pipdream‘s WOW No. 1 vibrator. This is a more high-end line of products, and while they share similar designs and packaging, but they vary in size and functions. The WOW No. 1 is the smallest, and it’s a perfect size for beginners, those who know they prefer a modestly-sized toy, or anyone new to rabbit-style vibes.The WOW vibes come beautifully packaged in a discreet white box with shiny silver lettering. A stylish pink and white outer sleeve (pictured below left) covers the box. On the back of the sleeve is product information and a picture of the vibrator.

Lift off the box lid to find WOW No. 1 nestled in a molded insert covered with satiny white fabric, so the packaging is perfect for gift-giving and great for storage.

Since this vibe is waterproof, cleanup is easy with soap and water or toy cleaner. The WOW No. 1 measures close to 9 inches in total length, with a good 3 inches of that being handle, and around 3 1/2 inches of insertable length. The hard plastic handle is a good size and has that velvety-soft finish, so it’s comfortable to hold. Hardly any vibration can be felt through the handle, so no worries about numb hands even during extended use.

The shaft is a little over an inch in diameter, making the girth on this vibe a modest 3 1/2 inches. Inside, there are 3 rows of small plastic rotating beads. Covered in very soft and squishy elastomer, the back of the shaft has a few very subtle ridges, and the front has a unique bubble-like texture. The tip is smooth, while the surface over the rotating beads and remainder of the shaft has a barely noticeable marbled texture. As is typical with this material, it tends has quite a bit of surface drag.

The little rabbit measures 3 inches from tail to ears, and he comes dressed for the occasion in a matching pink shirt. The ears are long, separate, and flappy, so they feel awesome. The bunny’s bulbous nose also carries the vibration and jiggles about quite a lot, adding another stimulation point. This is good news for anyone who finds the ears positioned too high for targeted clitoral stimulation.

The WOW No. 1 has 2 motors, each with its own single-button control so they operate independently. For both motors, simply press the button to start it up at the slowest speed and cycle through the settings. The shaft rotates at 3 different speeds, while the the bunny bullet has 3 speeds of continuous vibration, an escalating/roller coaster pattern, a very short, sharp pulse setting, a pattern of 1 medium pulse followed by 4 very short pulses, and then another fast continuous vibration mode. So, there is plenty of power as well as many vibration options and combinations to play with.

The buttons are very user-friendly and accessible, although it would be nice to have a way to turn the motors off without having to cycle through all the settings. I did notice that some power is compromised when both motors are going, especially if the shaft and bunny are both at top speed.

I hope this one isn’t battery-drainer because opening up the battery compartment requires a bit of work. The battery cap is screwed on, so make sure there’s a phillips head screwdriver around. Once the cap is off, there is a plastic insert that I had to pry out–for real, it was wedged in there so tight I had to scour the house for a pair of pliers to remove it. The O-ring is underneath the insert, and I’m very confident that this vibe is, in fact, waterproof because that is one heck of a seal.

Once the insert is removed, it’s easy to get the 4 AA batteries installed since this toy has one of those handy slide-out battery trays. Also, I love that the base is flat, allowing the vibe to stand up on its own. This helps keep it clean, since elastomer has the tendency to attract lint and any bit of dirt or pet hair it comes into contact with sticks.

Even though this is vibe is smaller than my other rabbits, it is very efficient when it comes to getting the job done. I know, I rarely meet a dual stimulation toy I don’t like, but this one really works well for me. I normally use rabbits for longer, self-indulgent solo play sessions, and WOW No. 1 is great for that, but it can also bring me to climax in under 5 minutes (not that I timed it or anything). It would be hard for me to not love such an effective toy. I just hope I don’t have to change the batteries that often.

HUGE MEGA COLOSSAL UPDATE, Y’ALL:
Turns out you DON’T have to completely disassemble the battery compartment on this vibe. Simply grab the bottom and pull. It just pops out! Apologies for making it way more difficult than necessary.
