Pixie Plus
The Pixie Plus is a dual-stimulation sex toy made by Vibratex, the same company that produces my beloved Rabbit Habit. When I first saw the Pixie Plus, I thought it looked rather strange, but I couldn’t help being intrigued by the shape and texture. After reading some mixed reviews I was even more curious, so I decided to try it.
The Packaging is just a simple clear plastic box, so the vibe inside is clearly visible. The pink elastomer is textured with very soft and squishy spikes. The material itself has an almost sticky feel, and yes, lint and dust cling to it.
Since the Pixie Plus isn’t waterproof, take care when cleaning to keep the battery compartment dry. In fact, toy cleaner is a good choice for this one considering the textured surface adds another cleaning challenge. I’ve been storing mine in its original box, which is beginning to fall apart, so I’ll soon start keeping it in a plastic bag.
Speaking of storage, be sure to remove the 4 AA batteries between uses. For some reason, this toy drains the batteries, even if they’re only left in overnight. So, I remove the batteries after each use before cleaning, which should be done anyway. The bullet is attached to the battery pack by an old-school telephone cord. It’s rather bulky, but it stretches pretty far and doesn’t get tangled up.
The Pixie Plus has two multi-speed motors, each operated individually. The switch turns the power on or off, the top dial controls the shaft motor, and the bottom dial controls the bullet. Instead of rotating or vibrating, the shaft motor moves the curved tip up and down, similar to a “come hither” motion. I think this must be pretty unique, as it’s the first toy I’ve seen that does this.
The bullet is also rather interesting. Covered in the same soft elastomer as the shaft, it has a little cup at the tip. The vibration travels through to the cup, causing it to flutter around, similar to the ears on a rabbit-style vibe. It also makes a nice little suction cup, and the small raised bit in the middle is great for targeted clitoral stimulation. Both motors are pretty strong, and the bullet isn’t too terribly noisy, but the shaft is loud. It makes a mechanical, almost cranking type of sound.
Texture and size-wise the Pixie Plus may not be a good choice for beginners. While a 5-inch girth and 5 inches of insertable length isn’t huge, the texture and rigid shaft make it seem bigger. The spikes, while soft, do add some grip, and the curved tip is an odd shape and totally firm, which makes insertion a bit tricky.
The first time I played with this sex toy I got a bit frustrated trying to figure out how to comfortably use the shaft, so I just enjoyed the bullet. The next time I adjusted the stopping point of the tip to its highest point, and that helped. Once I had it comfortably inserted, it then took me a little while to figure out the positioning so the tip was in the right spot, so I did have to do more trial-and-error type of experimenting with this vibe. It’s not the type of sex toy I would use for quick solo sessions or during intercourse. For me, this one is better suited for more indulgent, extended self pleasure.
