Ophoria Bliss 5
Ophoria is a line of high-quality silicone sex toys. I was very impressed with the Rapture Chain Fascinations sent me to review, so I jumped at the opportunity to try the Bliss No. 5. This is a standard classic-style vibrator, with a smooth surface and available in pink or purple. I got a pink one.
Like other Ophoria products, the Bliss 5 comes in a white box with a clear plastic window showing the vibe inside, which is kept in place by a molded plastic insert. There is product information and operation instructions printed in 6 different languages on the back of the box, as well as a little brochure/catalog inside with more details about the entire Ophoria line. The vibe itself measures about 8 inches long, with close to 6 inches of insertable length. Slightly tapered, the diameter is 1 1/2 inches around the widest place at the base, and 1 1/4 inches towards the top. This makes it a fairly girthy toy, with a circumference ranging from around 4 inches at the tip to nearly 5 inches towards the bottom. Oh, lack of a flared base means no anal play with this one.
Bliss 5 features a simple, single-button control on the bottom of the base, which is also the battery compartment cap. Press and hold the button for a couple of seconds to turn it on, and it starts out at the slowest continuous vibration setting, which is really nice and rumbly, almost thumping. Another press of the button takes you to the second speed, which is a bit faster and also rumbly. At the third speed, the vibrations are fast and of a higher frequency, with a more buzzy feel. Next is a pulse mode, and the final setting is a pattern of 4 very short pulses followed by a longer pulse. Pressing the button again takes you back through the cycle. To turn the vibe off, just press and hold the button for a few seconds.
While the shaft is nice and firm, its smooth surface is relatively soft and pretty giving, especially at the top. In fact, the tip is great for pinpoint stimulation because it is slightly squishy. As is typical of this material, there is some surface drag, so use only water-based lube since this is a silicone sex toy. Clean with either antibacterial soap and warm water, toy cleaner, or sterilize with a 10% bleach solution. This vibe is splash proof, but take care not to get any water or moisture in the battery compartment. I store mine in the original packaging since this material tends to pick up dust, lint, and pet hair.
Can I just say how incredibly impressed I am with this vibe? I know it may not look like anything particularly special or exciting. There aren’t any textures, funky-fresh features, or high-tech functions, but it’s easy to operate, comfortable to hold, and all the vibration settings are powerful and feel really good. Seriously. I’m talking zero to climax in under a minute with this one, if that’s what you happen to need at that particular moment. With the 5 vibration variations, this vibe is also a good choice for more extended pleasure sessions, but no matter how you use it, the Bliss 5 gets the job done effectively and quietly. The Ophoria Bliss 5 is a product anybody will enjoy, from sex toy novice to vibe veteran.
