Sex is Fun – The Game
I love the Sex is Fun podcast, and I have been an avid listener for close to 4 years. The show is sponsored by GreatSexGames.com, a company that in addition to offering several games geared for swingers, produced Sex is Fun – The Game, which is a card game specifically for couples. You can download the rules and check the game out for yourself on the GreatSexGames.com website.
Sex is Fun – The Game consists of six categories of action cards, with seven male and seven female cards in each: Pillow Talk, Touch Test, Oral Action, Sex Play, Kinky Action, and Act it Out. Each player also gets “Decision” and “Prove it” cards. If you opt to keep score, which we typically do because I’m a competitive person, you’ll need poker chips or some other way to keep track of points. The game can go on for as long as the players want. The objective is to accumulate the most points, while in the process learning more about your partner and experimenting with new ideas.
Pillow Talk cards are great to start off with since no action is required, and they help encourage an open dialogue. The Touch Test deck addresses each partner’s play preferences, and is a great, non-threatening way to feel out how open your partner may be to new activities as well as getting an idea for how much they enjoy the old standbys. Oral Action cards, as their name suggests, are all about using your mouth. Sex Play cards address intercourse, while Kinky Action cards step up the game a bit by suggesting more adventurous activities. Now, unlike the other card categories, you don’t read the Act it Out cards to your partner. Rather, you guess how they will respond to the action listed on the card. You then perform said action and see if you predicted correctly. You can even come up with your own variations on the game or use strategies like bluffing, which the other partner can then call using one of his or her “Prove it” cards. Now the bluffing partner has to actually follow through or lose double the points.
I love this game because it’s an easy way to break routine and try something new. What I’ve found is that certain types of play I was hesitant to try when we first got the game I’m now willing to explore. You can go at your own pace, easily staying within your comfort zone or pushing your boundaries. You can have as many rounds as you like, or just let playing the game turn into having sex, which is often what happens around here.
