Little Thumper

Little Thumper is made from phthalates-free hard ABS plastic, a nonporous material that is compatible with any lube, but not a lot is necessary thanks to the smooth, slick surface. It also is a hygienic choice and easy to clean with either antibacterial soap and water, toy cleaner, or by wiping with isopropyl alcohol. Just be careful if you use the soap and water option not to get the battery pack, cord, or base of the bullet where the cord attaches wet since this is not a waterproof sex toy.
The bullet is a handy size at 4 inches long and about an inch in diameter. The battery pack measures 4 1/2 by 1 3/4 inches, and the cord is 23 inches long. Two buttons on the battery pack control the vibe: the power button turns it on and off, and the “4 Step” button toggles through the four vibration settings. The options, in order are: escalating/roller coaster, pulse, fast continuous vibration, and slow continuous vibration. I don’t know why they made the slow speed of continuous vibration the last option, since that is most likely where a lot of users would want to start. It doesn’t matter which setting you’re using when you turn the vibe off. When you turn it back on, it always starts in escalating/roller coaster mode. The battery pack also features a little red indicator light that illuminates when the toy is in use.
Little Thumper is pretty noisy, but the vibrations are strong and effective. The bullet’s shape offers some variation, with its rounded tip for targeted stimulation and elongated sides for less concentrated vibration. I also really like the tapered handle where the cord attaches. Not a lot of the vibration travels there, which is nice because nobody likes a numb hand.
Great for external clitoral stimulation, Little Thumper can also be inserted vaginally, but the lack of a flared base means this toy not safe for anal play. The short cord makes it somewhat restrictive to use during intercourse, plus it takes both hands to operate, and I would rather have a hand free. I find that letting my partner control the battery pack while I hold the bullet in position is a more practical way to enjoy this toy during couple play.
Out of the four vibration settings, I really prefer fast continuous mode. It’s very effective for when you need a quick, powerful clitoral orgasm. The escalating mode is great for a little teasing or to jumpstart foreplay, but the pulse setting is not enough of a pulse for me. The vibration interval is way too long. The slowest vibration speed feels great starting off, but I need the fastest speed to get me there.
I definitely see some room for improvement with the Little Thumper. The battery compartment cover is flimsy and seems like it could easily snap off. I had a heck of a time trying to get this vibe to work. When I first inserted the two AA batteries and pressed the power button, nothing happened. They were installed correctly, but upon examination I noticed that there was a spring not making contact with the positive end of one of the batteries. This was kind of frustrating, but easily rectified. Also, the pulse setting was really more of a continuous vibration intermittently paused. I definitely prefer the the shorter, faster intervals of a typical pulse mode. However, it’s still a decent sex toy for the price.
